SPECIAL assistant to the President for political affairs Kaizer Zulu is shocked that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has remained mute after clearing him of corruption allegations.
Mr Zulu told the Daily Mail in an interview on Monday that he does not understand why ACC director general Rosewin Wandi has not informed the public that the commission has cleared him of corruption allegations.
“I am still waiting to hear the ACC tell the nation in the same manner it did to say I was being investigated for corruption. Why has Ms Wandi remained quiet about it now that I have been cleared?” Mr Zulu said.
he found the whole issue about his alleged investigations as a calculated move aimed at tarnishing his name and making his work at State House difficult.
Mr Zulu wondered how a classified letter meant for the President’s eyes found its way to the media.
“I know there are people who want me out of State House and they are using all sorts of concocted stories to put me in bad light with the head of state,” Mr Zulu said.
Mr Zulu was accused of soliciting for US$1,000,000 and he allegedly actually received US$200,000 gratification from a Mr Zhiang, a Chinese national.
But after investigations, the ACC established that the allegations were false.
And in a letter to ACC, Transparency International executive director Goodwell Lungu said Mr Zhiang complained bitterly about the allegations.
“Mr Zhiang has interacted with our centre and complained bitterly that the said allegation is false and at no time did he offer such a huge amount to Mr Zulu,” Mr Lungu said in the letter.

A plane carrying former President Bill Clinton made an unscheduled landing in Tanzania Wednesday after a problem with one of the plane’s four engines was identified, CBS News has learned.
The engine was repaired, and the aircraft was on the ground at the Dodoma fueling station less than 45 minutes before taking off again.
Clinton was traveling in the East African nation to visit projects that have been funded by his family’s foundation.
The plane is a Canadian turboprop Dash 7 and was traveling from Iranga, a city in the center of Tanzania, to Lake Manyara, which is in the north.
Clinton is touring projects intended to boost agriculture, health, education and wildlife conservation. He and his daughter Chelsea are also scheduled to visit Kenya, Liberia and Morocco.
