The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) says the opposition UPND should be ashamed that even after inciting workers to shun this year’s Labour Celebrations, workers turned out in large numbers yesterday.
PF Media Committee and Publicity Vice Chairperson Sunday Chanda has told QFM News in an interview that the UPND should know that the workers know what is right and wrong and that is why they came in large numbers across the country to commemorate Labor Day.
Mr. Chanda notes that in most cases, the UPND incites workers to shun public events but still people turn out in large numbers to celebrate them.
He says the UPND should be worried that they have no following in the country saying most of the things they incite Zambians do not make sense.
He says both public and private workers decided to ignore calls by the UPND because they did not see any sense in such unwarranted calls.
Mr. Chanda has since praised the workers across the country for not listening to what he has termed as Prophets of Doom who do not mean well for the country

Sunday chanda should first address his personal problems. I understand the youngman has alot of credits that can take him 10 years to clear.

this is not the first time such behaviour is portrayed by the upnd. akainde is always fo front asking women to demonstrate naked also asking Zambians not to participate in activities like labour day, hopefully next year when pf wins we expect akainde To pack up, I mean he would have lost for the 5th time meaning he cannot stand anymore on that party, however it does not mean that’s the end,he can always be a pillar in upnd, an advisory to who ever will be chosen..my guess is he too will be a Tonga..anyway good luck

Nonsense. Why does PF always pick on UPND, it is the governments duty to attend and conduct Labour day celebrations. Do you think PF would allow H.H to conduct labour day celebrations. Let PF stop making speaches about workers getting better salaries and instead create jobs. For the people they are paying they impose a wage freeze, LOL let them realise that a leader leads by example. Most people are without jobs now because of the wages imposed on companies etc to pay higher wages so only a few are in employement now.

Incoherent twisted little blogger! How does allowing hh to conduct the Labour day celebrations come in? Govt attends labour day commemorations as the biggest employer. Labour day celebrations are conducted by labour leaders: THE UNIONS!!! If the workers at your hakainde’s businesses are not unionized, TOUGH LUCK!!!! Then they are kept as though they are his unwanted, unplanned for illegitimate children from his prostitutes. Probably your hh thinks that he is a union leader & thus can ask his members to stay away coz he lost his “erections” too?

Yeah, actually, the PF shock me because they fail to defend their own record…they increased the minimum wage by over 33%. They increased the tax-free band from K1,000 under MMD to K3,000 under the PF. It is very laughable that none of the PF’s people mentioned this during the campaigns leading up to the January 20 Presidential Elections- * but that goes to tell you the quality of politicians we have here in Zambia*. Case Closed!

Just 4? At which venue? Where you scattered all over the nation? I believe in your conscience sulving comment you are wanting to show that most companies listened to & followed the directive by hakainde to shun the celebrations? Please, find out for us if hakainde’s workers at all his companies are unionized. If it so, then the boy doesn’t know that it’s not him but the unions that organise labour day!! Akaso mumbwe uyu. He tells workers to shun the May day celebrations because he wishes to run away from buying his workers a suit!!!

workers who attended the celebrations were those on the list of labour day awards. those who were not on the list are the majority and did not attend. they listened to their president: Hakainde Hichilema period.
