Edgar – RB Alliance Under Pressure
A source from the within the PF has revealed that the alliance between President Edgar Lungu and former president Rupiah Banda has come under immense pressure in the past few weeks.
“It all started with Dora when she disparaged late president Sata at her press briefing. Many people within PF were not happy with that. So Kambwili was speaking on behalf of many”, the source stated. ”So the boss called RB to complain about Dora. But RB in turn complained about Kambwili. So their call ended in them agreeing that the President will restrain Kambwili while RB also promised to manage Dora”, the source went on.
The source also revealed that the appointment of Mumbi Phiri as PF SG was not out of principle but merely to please the Bemba clique within PF. ”Look at Mumbi, she has no capacity to be SG of a big party like PF. The boss did it out of desperation”.
President Lungu is said to have made the appointment to ‘quieten’ things in the PF after the Siliya/Kambwili saga which was followed by Alex Chikwanda and Miles Sampa ‘partying merrily’ with GBM and Hakainde Hichilema at the matebeto for GBM’s daughter. ”The President didn’t like that a single bit”, the source said.
President Lungu is said to have found out that actually ABC and HH have been business partners for a long time. He also suspects that the finance minister has a soft spot for Hichilema. Soon after the last elections, ABC referred to HH as ‘a good young man who has been left out of government by a corrupt system’. Earlier in his ‘utuma wine’ expose, the finance minister called HH ‘his boy’. HH has equally referred to Chikwanda as ‘my good old man’ on many occasions and he is almost apologetic when criticising the finance minister. .
”So the President suspects there was more than meets the eye at that matebeto. Especially that GBM has openly vowed to do maximum damage to PF in Northern province”, the source explained.
But the appointment of Phiri has angered the RB camp which was hoping that the Deputy SG position should be reserved for one of the RB lieutenants. ”It was like it was a done deal. RB had even settled on either Simbao, Kaingu or Muhabi Lungu for that position”, the source revealed.
As a result RB is said to have started making plans of strengthening the MMD following his disappointments with the President. ”This Phiri appointment and Dora’s hardships in Petauke have made RB very angry. You heard what he said the other day at the court; that MMD is not a bad party and will bounce back”, the source pointed out.

Edgar Chagwa-you really baffle my mind. If it is true, why should you be worried about other people associating with others? Do you really think that everyone in PF is happy with your association with RB and MMD?You have messed up a once vibrant party and only time will tell where PF under your dubiuos leadership is heading to. If it was in other countries, what we are witnessing should have been stopped sometime back through you being recalled. Edgar is riding a guilty horse trying to please regional supports at the expense of merit from the people he is appointing. The biggest blunder he did was bedding RB who in turn needs favours, besides he spent millions on Edgar’s campaign, so why not. He has no option but dance to RB’s tunes.

RB is the worst President Zambia has ever seen. The rate at which he mismanaged this Country was unprecedented. Seriously the corruption that he committed with his family made FTJ look like a novice in the art. The climax was the violence, abuse of innocent Zambians and the unprecedented amount of funding which went into the campaign culminating into his being thrown out of Govt.

True that…but we all saw this coming. It was clear that RB helped and advised Lungu what to do to win the last elections….result? favours and him ruling the Government indirectly….I am even shocked that people are surprised at what is happening now….some of us foresaw this coming..no wonder we were very uneasy having EL as president…his history as lawyer and a Zambian in general leaves much to be desired…well meaning Zambians talked, but it fell on deaf ears….ARRGGHHH this is so annoying!!!!
