Lungu, Koroma Push For UN Seat

PRESIDENT Lungu is confident the African Union (AU) Committee of Ten (C-10) heads of state summit which opened in Livingstone yesterday will help Africa secure a permanent seat on the United Nations (UN) Security Council.
And visiting President of Sierra Leone Ernest Koroma has said that the United Nations (UN) reforms should be given priority because the continent holds a unique position.
Mr Lungu said Africa deserves to have a permanent seat on the UN Security Council because it has more countries than other continents.
President Lungu said this in an interview with journalists at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport yesterday before departure for Livingstone where he is today expected to open the C10 summit.
“It is sad that we have no say about the UN Security Council. Africa should have a permanent seat on the UN Security Council because it has more countries compared to other continents in the world,” President Lungu said.
The decisions of the African Union summit will be presented at the 17th General Assembly of the UN in September for consideration.

This so called the conference was poorly attended. It was very embarrassing because the other Heads of States shanned it. Ten were supposed to attend but only two…shame. What type of kubomba is this when other presidents who were invited never attended but shanned..heheheheee.

Priority number one is to fix our economy not fighting for Africa to have a permanent set on UN, it’s rubbish which should be trash canned, of what benefit is that to a ordinary Zambian citizen on the street?

UN is failed org. What peace or security has it achieved from time it was formed. Wars are daily menu on every news. Zambia we are luck for maintainig peace on our own but joining failing security wings let’s wait and see.
