In poor countries people die like due to ignorance and dunderheadness… most Zambians cannot swim because Swimming has gained an image as a “white sport”.

“It is [seen as] a country club sport that only very rich kids get to participate in.

Village kids only splash around in water without any skills of swimming
Swimming pools these days are used by “Money mongering miracle churches” for ‘baptisim’ Just imagine the foolishness in Africa!!

We in the UPND would like to pass our condolences to the bereaved family and close friends of the two brothers. We understand that losing two young men can be devastating. We mourn with you. We in the upnd will continue to fight to ensure the pf implements safey measures across all water bodies in the country. The councils are sleeping and not being proactive. clearly if two people can drown in this water body it shows that there is need for safety asssessments to be carried out because this might happen again.
