9 Zim Prostitutes Arrested In Lusaka
The Immigration Department has arrested nine Zimbabwean women for unlawful stay. According to Immigrations Department public relations officer Namati Nshinka, the nine, who are suspected sex workers, were arrested at a bar in Kanyama township after they failed to produce documentation to verify their immigration status.
Nshinka also revealed that five other persons claiming to be Zambians, among them three women and two men, were apprehended at the same place after they failed to provide proof of their nationality.
He further stated that warn and caution statements would soon be recorded from them. Meanwhile, immigration officers at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Thursday received a Zambian deported for unlawful stay in the United Kingdom. In other developments, the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday convicted and fined a Congolese K3,000 or in default serve three months simple imprisonment for unlawful entry. The court also convicted and sentenced a Tanzanian to a fine of K200 or in default six months simple imprisonment for concealing his true identity.
Nshinka further stated that the Chililabombwe Magistrates’ Court on Thursday convicted and fined a Congolese K4,000 or in default six months simple imprisonment for unlawful entry.
