Mansa Woman Arrested For Infecting Boy With STIs
Police in Mansa have arrested a 27-year-old woman of Labi village in Chief Kalasa-Lukangaba’s area for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old boy and infecting him with a sexually transmitted disease (STD).
Luapula Province deputy commissioner of police Webby Shula said on Saturday that it is believed that the woman, whose identity has been withheld, allegedly forced the boy to have sex with her on several occasions.
He said the incident allegedly happened on unknown dates but around April 27 this year.
He said police have charged the suspect with defilement and she will appear in court soon.
The matter was reported to Mansa Police Station by the boy’s elder sister after she discovered that her younger brother had contracted an STD.
“The report indicates that on April 27, 2015 at about 21:00 hours, the boy went to the woman’s house to collect some money for the fish she had collected from him on credit.
“Instead, the woman decided to have sex with him,” Mr Shula said.
He said the woman allegedly had sex with the minor whenever he approached her to pay for the fish that she got on credit.

Another sad case caused by the growing levels of ignorance in rural areas. Our friends in the pf have failed to sensitise people at grass roots level. There is still a wide belief that sex with underage can cure one of disease. Lack of reachable education and low levels of literacy under the pf has meant that such avoidable cases are now the norm of the day.

There is no excuse for naivety..in the villages 21:00hrs is very late and to use the excuse for gaining sympathy is foolishness of the highest order.. the boy was enjoying the fruits of fish worth probably K30 and reaped STI for his foolish adventure. Now he cries foul after sleeping with this woman? No , release the woman unconditionally and that sister to this hopeless boy knew of the affair until it went sour FINITO. What do you expect when u sneek into peoples homes under the pretense of collecting debt at night? He got the ultimate reward and I have no sympathy for u my friend.
