Govt to Recruit 2,000 Nurses

nurses1GOVERNMENT plans to recruit 2,000 nurses to address the critical shortage of manpower in health institutions, Minister of Community Development, Mother and Child Health Emerine Kabanshi has said.
The minister said Government has been implementing the national training operational plan since 2013 to increase the availability of health personnel, enhance infrastructure and improve the provision of drugs and medical equipment.
She said this yesterday during the commemoration of International Nurses Day under the theme: “Nurses: A force for change, Care effective, cost effective”.
The minister said Government intends to accelerate the supply of nursing personnel by increasing graduates from the current 5,500 to 10,000 every year.
“We shall not relent until our targets and aspirations for quality and affordable healthcare to our citizens is fulfilled. Government has commenced the construction of two new training institutions in Senanga and at Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital in addition to the 27 other training institutions currently undergoing rehabilitation and expansion countrywide,” Ms Kabanshi said.
Ms Kabanshi said Government recognises the role that nurses play in the quest for national development by ensuring that the nation is healthy and productive.
“I would like to urge all you nurses in the country to continue having a positive mindset and good attitude in the pursuit of excellence in your daily duties as this will have a profound impression on the recovery of the patients whom you pledged to serve,” Ms Kabanshi said.
Earlier, Zambia Union of Nurses Organisation vice-president labour affairs Perpetual Kalobwe said nurses are overstretched as a result of multi-tasking.
“The task shifting has overburdened nurses who have literally taken up other responsibilities for the sake of their beloved patients. They are in wards, pharmacies, laboratories, blood banks as well as kitchens,” she said.

Kiki all comments are attributed to me. Thanks for your thoughts. I was in bed with my madam. So we had employment freeze and now magically the government can recruit thousands of people. Look we are not fools or kids. If the government is failing to meet simple financial obligations to carry on infrastructure work it started you think you can employ 5000 people. How many times have we heard such announcements? Limbi china has given u a security loan kiki. Ati job creation by announcing made up jobs without the budget to meet them. Please we want jon creation due to the natural working of the economy.

Kikiki humour is good for the soul. Twali bomba kale ifwe. Even this blogging I do it is out of good will as am not paid for it. When you invest wisely you do not need to seek employment. I employ people. However the issue is not about nez. It is about the common zambian on the street suffering due to made up lies about jobs and yet the few jobs which are well below 5000 will go to pf relatives and girl friends. Stop giving people false hope

Do you think creating employment is as easy as you being with your madam in bed? For example how long does it take to create an industry so that later on it employs the citizenry? do you think if Akainde comes into power today, then tomorrow all the pple will be employed? Why lacking cogitating capability when even a grade seven chap knows that if i plant maize today i wont have fresh cob tomorrow?

problem is, the pf has not yet started “planting the maize”, that is where the problem is bane. They lack the ability and competence to enact policies and structures to facilitate the creation of jobs and businesses. This is where the UPND comes in. So please stop living a dream and comforting yourself. because you have failed does not mean no one else can do it. It is good you are accepting that it is so hard for you in the PF. kiki

iwe, we have the right to criticise your party president. There is nothing you can do about it. These are the joys of freedom of speech which are enrishined in your own constitution. At this rate i will advice you pf cadres to hold your leaders accountable as we will not stop offering checks and balances. Stay strong

The main issue here is employment of 2,000 plus nurses who are currently in various training institutions country wide. The pronouncement is a secure and timely statement made appropriately on NURSES DAY to assure likely candidates, present graduates and those to be that there is light at the end of the long tunnel. If WISHES WERE HORSES BEGGARS WOULD RIDE. Lets wait and see, there seems to be money after lifting wage freeze to pay salary arrears to those ON BOARD and take on 2,000 plus Nurses, 5,000 plus Teachers….some political statements!! Wish some serious body could be taking these people to task HEAD ON(PUTIYETI) for day dreaming.

At least, all the 2,000 nurses are assured of a steady flow of salaries from the US192,000,000.00 if the same wont be diverted to pay politicians their gratuity.
But this same US192,000,000.00 X K7.3 =K1,401,600,000.00.Up to now, I am still to come across a tender from government for the said security works(What security?)

Very silly & stupid pronouncement from an illiterate PF sycophant! Such political rhetoricals & compulsions are ill timed! who can buy such a hollow pronouncement! One would expect the budget to have catered for this recruitment but not under that corrupt stinking Lairs party PF which has nothing tangible to offer apart from mere empty political rhetoriccs. What a Waste of time & political space! Very useless leaders, worse than human faeces which can be eaten by dogs & swines! Only gullibles can take this as the wage freeze was imposed for two years & this is just hallucinations from vodgar wine hungovers as always the case!

Problem with opposition is that they think they score if the incumbent party fails on one thing. Unsteady of them siding with it and bring out positive solutions so that the voter can take you as alternative people you are busy hurling insults at the president.

So only Nurses and maybe teachers are earmarked for employment.. non from other ministries. Uuuum other graduates will wait for hope when another calculated pronouncement is made short of what the Hon. Agriculture and Home Affairs ministers are in circles trying to say employment is around the corner in their ministries. Aaaa, there is money. Yes there has always been money but we still turn to loans. After employing we will ask well wishers to support salary payment. Am reminded by the TOM and JERRY catoon!!!
