The opposition Rainbow Party has disputed assertions that it is only growing through a daily newspaper tabloid.
Rainbow Lusaka Province chairman Goodson Banda says contrary to the assumptions being made by the ruling Patriotic Front his party is growing on daily basis.
He says his party is gaining ground by having structures in all parts of the country.
Mr. Banda says this is why the ruling PF is allegedly having sleepless nights over the momentum that Rainbow is gaining.

Rainbow indeed will grow. Anyhting is possible if you put time and effort in it. Kabimba knows the weaknesses of PF in and out and knows exactly where to press to lead to their demise. If i were PF i would keep both eyes on the rainbow fellas. Because what we see happening is the splitting of PF votes as rainbow will share votes with PF. You heard it first from me. I believe every sound politician should not take issues for granted. Rainbow party is also an issue for not only PF but every party. Every party should have a sleepless night over another. 2001 PF is a testimony.

Rainbow party is a BID brought in dead PARTY and how can they be a threat to mighty PF. When we dissolve the cartel completely by October this year that will be the end of RP too. So why should we worry.

We have more than 49 registered political parties in zambia. Rainbow is just one of them and new in the ring . Look at boxers, they come with all sorts of threats to there opponents but they endup loosing fights in 30 seconds as demonstrated by Charles manuchi.
The brains behind weakening the opposition are not true patriots of mother Zambia. There will never be true democracy if things degenerate to a One Party State. Anyway, destiny will not allow that or-else posterity will judge us harshly. there is nothing worth celebrating the crossing over to other parties by prominent figures… short of shooting ourselves in the foot. Again, it us to cry..Its one foot forward..two steps backwards. We need active and formidable opposition if sanity is to prevail.
