FBZ Awards Workers K700 Salary Increment

Finance Bank Zambia (FBZ) Limited has awarded its unionized workers a K730.00 salary increment across the board.

Speaking during the signing ceremony for the salary increment with the Zambia Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers (ZUFIAW) this morning, Finance Bank Managing Director Barkati Ali says the increment is with effect from 1st January, 2015.

Mr. Ali says the bank has been impressed with the performance of the workers hence the need to motivate them.

He adds that the Finance Bank has also performed well resulting in a recorded profit and that giving back to workers is just one way of maintaining good working relations with the workers.

And ZUFIAW General Secretary Chinagti Msiska has commended Finance Bank Zambia for awarding the workers an increment.

Mr. Msiska states that though the percentage is not the best, it is a step in the right direction.

He has since advised workers at the bank to embrace productivity and aim to work hard at all times.

So roughly your salary is around K6,000.. Which is fine, I mean its above the average in in this country.. Where I work, I only get a gross of K4,200.. My increment this year was just a K200.. But am fine anyway

Some of us are in support of UPND but we do not criticize everything under the PF…some things are a plus and personally I have never hesitated to give credit to them if something good happens. The fact of the matter is that PF is not doing too well….the economy is in a bad state and increments are the order of the day living a common man, the end user to suffer. The gap between the rich and the poor is very high and it will continue rising….wai keta?

NEZ is never a problem in his comment. Everyone on this site has a way of expressing themselves. It is a typical example of half full half empty glass of water. Moreover we all go overboard in our postings and are corrected…the same applies to NEZ.

It fair to a low paid employee, bang K 700 bonse mupoketi,ZUFIAW BRAVO! not other Unions who settle for 5%,10 %, ….type of increments, where only those with high pay feel the impact, hope they have learnt something.

@Chief Puta…FBZ giving K750 increment across the board to unionised workers does not mean the economy is doing well….it is the management of FBZ who are compassionate and understanding. If this was not the case and if this increment is based on the economy doing well, a lot of companies would have given its workers this kind of increment…I once worked for FBZ and what I know is that they are and have always been good at giving increments across the board. Dr Mahtani is very good in as far as workers well being is concerned. He may have other weakness but this is his strength. Working for FBZ is like working for the Government…a lot of security. Bravo FBZ Management and Dr Mahtani!!

This a worth while gesture and goes down well with the PF policy of More Morey in the pockets. Am sure some companies should take a good leaf from this ” RAIN FALL in summer ” particularly after ascertaining that they indeed have the ability to pay.

Seriously, when you consider the statement from FBZ, increase in profit, increase in investment, cohesive workforce: these are the tenets of a stable economy. So the rantings of ALL UPee eND supporters about failed state, dwindling economy, heywire policies are erased by such a report.
