ZAMTEL Increases Mahala Promotion Charge From K3 To K7
Zamtel wishes to inform its Customers and Members of the public that Real Mahala tariffs have been revised with effect from 1st June 2015. The charges are as follows.
Real mahala On-Net Plan K7.00 per Day
The daily benefits are:
1. 100 on-Net Minutes and 10 On Net SMSs for use between 06:00 and 18:00 Hours
2. Free On- Net calling between 22:00 and 06:00hrs
Real Mahala Off-Net Plan – K14.00 per Day
The daily benefits are:
1. 100 on-Net Minutes and 10 On Net SMSs for use between 06:00 and 18:00 Hours
2. 50% discount on Off-Net calls between 06:00 and 18:00hrs
3. Free On-Net calling between 22:00 and 06:00hrs.
Also note that multiple subscriptions in a day will NOT be permitted i.e. if a subscriber opts-out of any plan, they cannot re-subscribe to any of the plans on the same day.
Re-subscription to any plan will only be permitted the following day.
Any unused minutes and SMSs for the day will not be carried forward i.e. if the 100 minutes and 10 SMSs are not used up by 18:00 hours, they will become Zero (0) at 18:00 hours, and a fresh 100 minutes and 10 SMSs will be given after successful automatic subscription fee recovery.

Edgar Lungu has a big hand in the upward adjustments of the Mahara Promotion Charges.
The drunkard wants to benefit before he leave office in 2016 and die of HIV AIDS in 2017.
It is over with Lungu. Enough is enough. You cant continue taking Zambians for granted.
But the good thing is that once HH becomes president in 2016, the Mahara Promotion Charges will be reduced from K7 to just K2 to help the poor Zambians enjoy the services of their government.
K50 will be the only charge for the unlimited internet usage for 31 days.
Please Vote HH and UPND in 2016 for a better and Prosperous Zambia and not this drunkard who is taking us to the 18th centuary with his poor leadership.

If only I had VODCOM around in Zambia! These tuntembas would be reducing their tariffs in order attract 0.013% of the market share. Coz with Vodacom, I’d be able to be online from Kabwekatenda in Luapula to Akatukutu in Central province, from Tokai forest in Cape Province to Kakuma in Turkana county in Kenya without any breaks. Can Government Engage Vodafone?so we curb this nonsense!What seems to be the problem?Zamtel being a parastatal company should be the cheapest net work provider,so that all these chaps can follow suit,is the Information minister alive?Address this issue sympathetically let us know what has led to the skyrocketing in charges,what’s characterized the changes?is it the dolar rate or kwacha down fall. Need your seriousness in ruling the way things are heading or going,not favorably well managed.

You people when Dstv increased you did not protest. What is going to stop Zamtel from increasing from K3 to K7?Zamtel foolish increament of this nature will encourage other service providers. This is unfortunate.Protest besides this a local company.

No need to protest. Zamtel will see the drastic drop in calls traffic, a sign that sells have reduced. This will only take them a week or so and then they will reduce it to K5. Watch the space…….For now, GOODBYE ZAMTEL!!! BYE BYE

Forget about Vodacom coming to Zambia. there is an agreement between MTN and Vodacom about both not operating in the same country except those that both were in before the agreement. it will never happen as long as MTN is in Zambia.

For me, I bought a zamtel simcard because of this same promo. It was K1.5n then, it was then increased to the current K3.13, quiet manageable though with sacrifice. K7/day… Bye bye ba zamtel

It puzzles me the types of marketers we have in these parastatal coys we have whether they do understand simple marketing mix or not. That’s why it is so simple for Airtel to continue enjoying the large customer base because they analyse the market well. How do you increase the price of your product even when the same product is not well known by customers?
