JANZA Cries Foul: My Dismissal Letter Was Delivered At Airport, Its Painful

By Musonda Chibulu
DISMISSED Chipolopolo Coach Honour Janza has revealed the letter informing him of being relieved of his duties was delivered at the airport.

According to a story by Darious Kapembwa in The Post today the former Chipolopolo caretaker coach described the ordeal ‘as quite disrespectful and painful’.

“The most painful part was to receive the letter at the airport. It was delivered by Mr. Sam Phiri an accountant at Football House, and Mr. Julio Chiluba….”

Janza was replaced with Zesco Utd boss “Chicken “George Lwandamina who be assisted by Fighton Simukonda.

Chintu Kampamba and Davies Phiri continue with the other members of the bench.

“Chicken” will act until a foreign coach is hired.

Last year’s Zambia double winning coach and 2007 Under-20 second rounder has promised positive results and starts this Saturday against Guinea-Bissau at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

And Fwayo Tembo has joined the Chipolopolo. He among five foreign based players that include goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, Davies Nkausu, Emmanuel Mbola and Mukuka Mulenga that trained in Kitwe yesterday.

Being a CEO of an organization requires certain qualifications and skills, it is not about being a former footballer. Giving someone a letter at the airport simply demonstrates ignorance of administrative procedures.

Janza has been dismissed for incompetence, not tribe. But FAZ should improve its admin skills. Why deliver a dismissal letter at the airport? This was a very poor way of doing things.

Whether Janza underperformed or not that spirit of dismissing people by the airport is bullcrap. People should respect others especially that FAZ represent the Govt in football management and affairs.

His dismissal was long overdue but to deliver the letter to him at the air port is nonsense, one can suspect some thing fishy. He should been called by some one senior and talked to that he has been dropped and given the letter. Any way the man deserved the dismissal, he has been arrogant and non performing

I know FAZ not to be as organised but to give a national team Coach a letter of dismissal at the Airport is stooping so low.Why cant George Lwandamina just decline the position of interim Coach as a way of protesting FAZ’s misguided manner of handling basic administrative issues?

As a matter of interest, could the same letter of dismissal have carried the reversion of Janza to the position of Techinical Director? My ardent prayer is that with time the apparent re-organisation at FIFA will filter to national Associations.
