Musician Pilato Pleads Not Guilty

Satirical musician Fumba Chama alias Pilato has pleaded not guilty to the charge of conduct likely to cause the breach of peace before a Lusaka Magistrate Court.

Chama is alleged to have conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace when he composed the controversial song “Alungu ana bwela”.

Chama 31, a resident of Ndola who has been charged contrary to Section 178 of the Penal Code entered a plea of not guilty before Magistrate Aridah Chulu when he appeared in court this morning.

And Magistrate Chulu has granted Chama a cash bail of K1,000 with two working sureties.

She has also set 24th June as the date for commencement of trial.

Chama has however been reminded in custody until the bail conditions are met.

He is being represented by lawyers Marshall Muchende, Keith Mweemba and Sunday Nkonde.

However, even when on holiday, still make time for this site because just like the UPND I care alot about my country. Please UPND has open door policy for all those that have the heart to make zambia a better place. We welcome you with open arms and thank you.

Nez mune be mindful that we all love our country that’s why we guard it jealously from the hands of Kachema and his followers. We will make sure Kachema does not get any closer of the corridor of power in this country because we care.

Do or die kachema will one day rule this country and we will do our best to support him to that thrown, after all you are not a god to determine his destiney, if God can allow the cobra to rule then HH will also rule, because many prophesied that sata would not rule but God made it possible because he is a God of impossibilities, secondly a kachema is best and you cannot compare him to chikolwe or chikoswe,a kachema is productive and adds value to the economy, but chikolwe and chikoswe are very very destructed and a drain to the economy, in fact they are always parasites.

I guess the law language eluded you, entering a not guilty plea is not a judgement, what he went in for was the court to read his charges to him and as his constitutional right, to hear from Pilato what he says about the charge, bushe wasumina nangula ulekana?… whatever the answer he gives courts set another day for judgement meantime he can change his stance or look for lawyers etc In this case he said NO so the prosecuting team will work extra hours now to find him guilty also the defence team will read extra hard to prove that for sure Pilato innocent. Then magistrate compares the two ‘facts’ or evidence to give final judgement.

even a man from chibolya who has never seen a black board in his entire life knows that there is no case here. If you think pf’s convenience is more important than a citizens right to freedom of speech and expression , then you must be the biggest idiot. Indeed some of you are just judges on tumfweko and have no idea how the law works. Everyone knows these are political charges. Even the international community is aware. The government is busy creating a hero out of a nobody. Before 24 June, Pilato, you should release the following relics:

    Poyamba, anali wosamveka
    Tsopano, ali womveka kwambili
    cifukwa, cokonda kunama boza

    Chorus:
    Poyamba anati mukanisanka kunkala mfumu
    nizamimvelelani vonse vamene muzakamba
    nthawi yapita, zuba yabala, tiyembekezela
lelo tamvela ati ndimwe ba Boss eeee…..

This time, the POA will not be breached.

i ain’t seeing no reasons why the cops and the gvnmt should be embarrassing themselves apprehending pilato for an innocence song. in the song, there is no insults or disgracefulness to Mr. president. I have listened to the song to the end and all in the track is the truth about what is happening around. The thing HERE IS REALITIES. AN ARTIST HAS A RIGHT TI SING ABOUT WHAT IS GOING AROUND TO TEACH OR LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT.
