Chipolopolo Bashed in Namibia

The Zambia national team went down to a humiliating 2 – 1 loss at the hands of Cosafa Champions Namibia a Rwanda CHAN qualifier played in Windhoek.

In a game of two halves, the Chipolopolo started well and looked to be on their way to avenging the quarter final loss to Namibia in the Cosafa Cup when Winstone Kalengo put Zambia ahead in the 15th minute.

Zambia were clearly a head above the hosts as they dominated play with Fackson Kapumbu, Allan Mukuka and Jackson Mwanza terrorizing the Namibian defence and it looked like it was only a matter of time before the second goal would come.

However, Namibia were saved by the break and they returned from the dressing room a different team.

The Namibians were quicker on the ball and fought hard not allowing the Zambians any chance to settle and they got their equalizer 11 minutes after the restart.

From then on the hosts were in the driving seat and did not look back as they punished the George Lwandamina coached side with a second goal moments later.

Chicken’s boys were left chasing shadows as the Namibians turned on the heat with some showboating with the Zambian midfield clearly overrun.

Lwandamina tried to stabilise the ship by bringing in defensive midfielder Paul Katema for striker Jimmy Ndhlovu and introducing Charles Zulu for Allan Mukuka. The Zambians however held their own to keep the margin slender and will look to the away go as the silver lining to the grey cloud.

Zambia face Namibia in Lusaka on July 5 in the return leg.

Danny Munyao, Donashano Malama, Fackson Kapumbu, Bronson Chama, Christopher Munthali, Kondwani Mtonga, Justin Zulu (Patrick Ngoma), Allan Mukuka (Charles Zulu),Winston Kalengo, Jimmy Njobvu (Paul Katema), Jackson Mwanza.

When the government is a failed trial and error one, you do not surely expect anything to come out of it. If you have leaders who are clueless and busy seeking medical care in foreign countries because of “swallowing problems” then how do you expect the national team to perform? The government is leading by example. They are failures and hence nothing positive is coming out of this nation since 2011. We humbly ask you to vote UPND in the next election and put zambia back on the world map. We are better than this
