Zambian Pregnant Woman To Face Death For Trafficking In Drugs In Pakistan

BAHAWALPUR: A Zambian woman was arrested at the Rahim Yar Khan Airport after customs officials detected 20 heroin-filled capsules surgically concealed inside her stomach. The woman, identified as Chiputa Kamasha, had arrived at Sheikh Zayed international Airport for taking flight PK-295 to Dubai. Officials detained the women over her suspicious behaviour. During interrogation, she told the officials that she was three months pregnant. She was shifted to the Sheikh Zayed Medical Hospital, where a check-up confirmed her pregnancy but also showed a large amount of heroin-filled capsules inside her stomach. Doctors retrieved 20 capsules in an operation. If convicted, she faces death penalty.

Pregnancy + heroin in the body? Poor baby. Life nga yakosa, kuyafye kumushi first waya lima, wasambilila nefyakocha amalasha, waodako nesabi washitisha. When you are financially stable, you can come back to live in town. There is absolutely no shame in doing manual labour as long as it’s making you money. Fast money teyakwesha.”Puba ubepo”, thats what my folks would say.

True. Fast money never lasts or prospers the one seeking it. Someone will blame this on economic poverty but I think this has more to do with poverty of morals that economic poverty. The money spent on such trips could have been invested in much noble enterprises.

Am sure she doesn’t even know who impregnated her, most of these ladies are just used as drug mules due to poverty they have no choice, unfortunately Asian countries only do one thing to a drug trafficker, put a bullet hole behind your head, hope she was prepared for the eventuality.

She should be extradited to serve her sentence in Zambia. Its high time our government realised that every life matters. Prehistolic and archaic laws should not be universally applicable to all nationalities! They should serve their draconian laws for their citizenry!serve that woman!

The reason they catch them is there is no makwebo one can really do in Pakistan, atleast in dubai. So the moment they see a black woman they know it has to be drugs.
