Lusaka Woman Divorces Sick Husband, Fined K2,000

A 30-YEAR-OLD woman in Lusaka has divorced her sick husband, and has been ordered to compensate him with K2000.
This is in a case in which Veronica Hadangu of Garden House sued her husband, Tumushye Muyendekwa, 27, of Chibolya compound for divorce.
However, Muyendekwa said that he still loves his wife.
The two got married in 2011 and have two children. Dowry was paid.
Hadangu told Senior Court Magistrate Morgan Kayanika sitting at Kanyama Local Court that there was no love in the marriage because just after three months Muyendekwa refused to escort her to the clinic and her neighbor who escorted her.
She explained that Muyendekwa does not provide for the family and she has failed to chat with him because he shouts at her.
Hadangu further told the court that she wanted to divorce Muyendekwa because they have been on separation for three months from the time she went to deliver at her mother’s home.
In cross-examination, Hadangu said that Muyendekwa got sick after she had already left the matrimonial home.
In defence, Muyendekwa said that he still loves his wife, adding that problems started in September 2014 when he did not have money after he fell sick.
Muyendekwa who talked while seated due to illness added that he wanted Hadangu to come back home so that they look after the children together.
Asked by Hadangu why he did not follow her if he loved her, Muyendekwa said that he could not follow her because he was sick and that he was waiting for her to come.
In submission, Hadangu said that she wanted to divorce Muyendekwa because he seems not to love her. Muyendekwa said that he still loves Hadangu. Passing judgment, Magistrate Kayanika said that the court does not rejoice when a couple divorces.
He said that it allows divorce if the matter is serious like violence or negligence but Hadangu did not satisfy the court with her claim. He granted the couple divorce ordering Hadangu to compensate Muyendekwa with K2,000 in monthly installments of K200. Hadangu was also given custody of the children.

And the American civil right leader Jesse Jackson has warned whites in United States not to behave like Tongas in Zambia who are the nastiest tribalists in Zambia & the world @ large. He further equated Tongas to the white racist group called Ku Klux Klan (KKK) to that of Kachemas in Southern part of Zambia. Yikes!!!

Yes in this liberal world, even women can leave men. Men watch out you can also be left by a woman at the time when you really need her.

Liberated empowered women are not desperate can take care of themselves and not allow themselves to be down trodden by some chauvinistic man

    Sad Story Indeed.
The Judge Found Unsatisfactory Reasons For Her To Divorce The Husband And Yet Went On To Pass Judgement.
If It Was Him Who Decided To Divorce Her, He Would’ve Been Fined Tripple Than Hers.
We Men Are Tied In Every Corner When In Court With A Woman.
