Dear Ba Zesco,
Firstly I feel you are a disgrace to this coountry bane and your conduct is likely to breach peace. Electricity is the most essential element of our lives and the development of any country and you proudly left it to chance. So if the water levels are as low as you’d love us to believe, what will happen if we don’t receive enough rains this year? If you depended so much on high and low water levels for electricity supply you were expected to pay extreme attention to issues of global warming and anything that would affect the water levels. After so many years of operation your CEO and his disciples should have by now planned of how to avoid the problem you are claiming now. In moments like this, I wonder how your CEO introduces himself kubantu… Ati Hi, am the Chief Electricity Outgoer for Zesco, I sit on the board for loadshedding country wide.
At first you asked us to buy those tuma energy saving bulbs which look like starving worms ati they will help stop loadshedding and we did kanshi Bufi. I hope this time you will not ask the fish to dig wells in the rivers or ask us ukulatuntila amenshi mufimana. With your loadshedding you are indirectly demanding that (1) we cut more trees for charcoal production- but you and I know how this extensive cutting of trees will affect our enviroment even the rains you are praying for.
(2) Mining and manufacturing companies should reduce operating hours- but you know too well that this country’s economy depends on these sectors to survive so indirectly you are sobataging the economy. The office hours too are now reduced because imwe ba Zesco nabu Zesco bwenu could not plan.
So imwe guys, the millions you collect every day from us your clients you just pay yourselves and buy bundles for your big phones? Seriously naimwe without shame ati water levels are low… Mmmmmm even when we had a drought many years ago electricity was not our problem. If we are too trust your wisdom, the situation is beyond your control and we have no choice but to sit and hope for rains to come soon and raise the water levels…. I seriously hope it will raise your pride levels too. We are a peaceful people and you ba Zesco should not take that for granted lwenu. Anyway naleka apapene kuti yaya amalaiti.

Sense becomes sense when a sensible person speaks, not those with ill intentions like this man called Pilato. It is not the Zesco management which he he hates, but the hate of his song which has failed to see the air waves. Shame on this dirty man!

July 1, 2015 at 3:53 pm
The wise can pick sense even from a mad man? Do you know that @ Isaac? Pilato’s song may not sell that much for the simple reason that it has been burned from playing on air. But guess what? people play it all over and it has gone viral online. You know what this means? this guy has become popular and his next album will sell like hot chocolate…..

Alternatives!! That is what we are lacking. Much as Pilato has spun a wonderful piece here, it still shows that even at personal level, we lack alternatives.
In the face of such critical shortage of water and with no guarantee of early rains, I suggest that Chikwanda announces a Zero (0)% tax on ALL imports of solar energy invertors or converters. Just as we did for construction materials pa WTTO, even here we can avert a crisis. Make solar energy gadgets cheaper!!!

Good point but the same Govt is too damn broke it wouldn’t afford to lose that tax and duty money from investors. It’s a catch 22 problem.

Load shading will minimize in September simply because that is when the contract with other countries will end as zesco have already been paid for the commodity so it should honor the contract. As for not foresee that there will be short fall of rain nobody knew that and Govt contracts takes time to be

No proactiveness..no forecast..with the ever changing weather patterns due to global warming..we ar headed for disaster.its no wonder we hav cholera in the same areas every yr and we know y? Surely our dear zesco must hav seen their generation against demand pattern was dwindling due to water levels and find mitigating measures like accelerate their current hydro power projects to cover this shortfall. We hav big brains at unza doing research and development..wen such problems are detected early they can jst be thrown to such institutions..its sad, disappointing and not encouraging at all at this time and era to have such problems due to such reasons. Its like going home and anouncing to your kids ati u will be having one meal a day because salary nayamba ukuchepa…lol
