The Patriotic Front (PF) has made it three out of three after scooping the Mulobezi, Malambo and Petauke Central parliamentary seats in yesterday’s by-elections.
Dora Siliya of the ruling PF in Petauke Central has reclaimed her seat with a landslide by polling 12, 830 votes while Allan Zulu of the UPND polled a 2, 331, with Ignasio Phiri of UNIP polling 259 votes.
Ms Siliya was declared winner at around 02:30 hours this morning.
Petauke Central constituency has seven wards and 53 polling stations with a total of 46,635 registered voters.
And Ms Siliya has told QFM News via telephone that she knew she would win the by-election.
Ms Siliya says she is delighted that the people of Petauke Central Constituency will once again have representation in parliament after two years of no representation in Parliament.

In Malambo constituency, PF Candidate Jacob Shuma polled 5, 566 votes to scoop the seat beating his closest rival of the UPND Simon Phiri who got 3, 842 votes, while Independent candidate Florence Mwayopa managed to poll 438 votes with UNIP’s Jairos Mchenga taking fourth place with 181.
Malambo constituency has 35 polling stations with 28,088 registered voters and a total of 10, 133 votes were cast with 106 votes rejected.
The parliamentary by-election in Malambo arose after then MMD MP Maxwell Mwale lost the seat over electoral malpractices committed in the 2011 general elections.
And the the PF cabdidate Patricia Mulasikwanda has scooped the Mulobezi seat in a tightly contested election beating his rival from the UPND Hastings Sililo.
Ms Mulasikwanda has polled 3, 337 votes against Mr Sililo’s 3, 313 votes.
UNIP’s Alfred Mandumbwa who has managed a paltry 81 votes, with Green party’s Esau Mwanza polling 61 and Collins Mbangu of Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) managing 69 votes.
Ms Mulasikwanda was declared winner by at about 08:00hrs.
The Mulobezi parliamentary seat fell vacant after the nullification of Mr Sililo’s election.

HH couldnt have put it better. The foolish illiterates do not analyse numbers and trends. They do not understand that elections is all about numbers. I wouldnt be celebrating if I lost votes which is what happened today. The PF has lost incredible numbers of votes and the UPND is making inroads. This is supposed to be a pf stronghold. It is therefore shocking to see such numbers by the UPND. Congrats pf for retaining the same seats and winning by small differences in others

Shocking to see such numbers? Even in defeat this fool thinks that insulting others is what will win UPND elections. Fool. A defeat is a defeat. Was Mulobezi a PF stronghold?

with malpractice reported in mulobezi with results being tight. it just shows that power was abused in this election. you and i both know that if pf did not have government machinery it wouldnt have won. You can carry on celebrating falsified votes while the country’s deficit continues to rise. The irony is that the same money spent on the same by elections would have been used to deal with the deficit. You lack integrity just like your president.

Agreed Moma. It is a shame.
In or around 2002, a World Bank report predicted that if Zambia does not invest in its abundant hydro electricity capacity, new mines, homes, industries etc will lead to load shedding.
We failed to listen or we ignored. Today in 2015, poor Zesco is blaming God for sending little rain. Are we serious?

And the trend is set. If only some parties were open for introspection. Change is inevitable. But when you have concentrated on calling your would be voters as fools, kaponyas, poor or beggars, one wonders whom you’d wish to woo to vote for you. In the meantime, you fail to tell your leader that “Sir, it seems it is you & your approach that the masses are fed up with.” Then, and only then, shall hope be rekindled. In the meantime. Moarn on ba UPND & seek solace in your usual excuses.
Remember: “If we stole this election, then we stole together.”

We need to be peaceful.
In 1991, when Unip was violent, Chiluba, Mwanawasa, Arthur Wina, VJ etc told us not to fight back. And the result? Zambia had one the most peaceful government change over around the world. So, you leaders, tame your bulldogs.

Word to Kambwili:
MMD sort of went into self destruction mode the day Muhabi Lungu started bringing back RB. The greed of the old man made mmd followers seek better parties. So if Dora & others chose PF & Mutati et al chose upnd, I see no reason why you ought to sell your soul to devil. This Dora win could have been a upnd one had your emotions been entertained. Wise up or you may be forced to recover your neck through hunger.
