LUNGU toasts PF victory

President Edgar Lungu

President Edgar Lungu has thanked voters in Malambo, Petauke and Mulobezi constituencies for honouring the PF with resounding victories.

The President says the victory is not for the PF alone but it is for the people of Zambia that have continued to show support to the ruling party.

President Lungu who has congratulated PF members for the job well done says the victory has demonstrated that Zambians have rejected regionalism and tribal politics because they believe in the “One Zambia, One Nation” motto.

He says this further show that Zambians remain ready to dismantle any regionally based political strongholds, because that kind of politics negates the gains of democracy, freedom and unity as a country.

The President says he will continue to champion national unity across tribe, political, religious and all other affiliations because that is why he was elected.

The President says he is confident that the support the people have shown him will be sustained until the 2016 Presidential election.

This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by Special Assistant to the President For Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda.

And the Head of State Further says he together with the PF does not take the victory for granted but is happy that it is a demonstration of the faith and confidence Zambians have in the ruling Party.

President Lungu has urged all PF supporters to be magnanimous in victory and appealed to those who lost also to be gracious in defeat.

And the President is happy that elections where conducted in a free and fair atmosphere save for a few incidents, which he says police must ensure that they do not recur again.

He added that he will continue to perform his duties by bringing together the cream of the nation from different political and professional backgrounds because everyone is called to do their best in serving Zambia.

And the President says those who seek to sow seeds of discord by spreading falsehoods and hate speech, the outcome of the by-elections is a reminder to them that the goodwill of the people will always triumph over ill-will.

President Lungu says the PF administration shall continue to soldier on with developing the country and creating better lives for all citizens.

Lungu celebrating this: the UPND has performed well in places considered not its strongholds, citing Malambo where the party has increased its votes from 704 votes in 2011 to 2,582 and in Petauke from a paltry 515 votes in 2011 to over 2,331 votes in 2015 barely four years later.

Lungu is further celebrating this: Zambia’s credit rating was cut by Standard & Poor’s, which warned of a rapidly widening budget gap and said elections may prevent the government from addressing it. S&P lowered the rating to B, five levels below investment grade. “Zambia’s fiscal position is markedly and negatively deviating from our previous expectations,” and any policy response will be “constrained” before September 2016 elections, it said

Lung is further celebrating the entire country being plunged in darkness with load shedding. foolish man with no integrity

Voters in mulobezi were victimised and attacked with the powers that be. Lungu and PF are taking zambia for a ride. They think we are all sleepy dull zambians who can be fooled. Gunshots at by elections by the pf. since when did zambia become such a lawless country? I have never known anyhting like this before. Freedom of speech being curtailed with impunity …i can go on and on. In 2016 the zambian loving people will vote upnd and empancipate us from this debacle called pf

    • Vampiro @ ONYX POWER   July 2, 2015 at 9:25 am

Lawlessness is what is preached in upend. When govt says we want to protect you through POA you refuse and when you get clobbered you cry foul.

Its high time NawaKwi joined hands with HH. Right now you could straight away become UPND vice president. You’ll never go wrong if you make that decision. You have the knowledge of running a government. Now is the time to make things right. Both you and HH just need to swallow pride and unite for the purpose of saving us from corruption, brutality, poverty, tribalism, etc, etc….if you really mean well when you say you want to serve the Zambian people. Think about this seriously.

Stop looking for people that your directions idiot, HH can use to fortify his unpopular presidency. Why jump on Nawakwi? Is she easy pickings? Is there a leadership vacuum in upnd? You seem to think all person, apart from HH, in upnd fisushifye such that you must import Edith to add value to HH. Atase! Just call for your overdue convention and challenge your demigod. Even if he storms away with his cash, you’ll still have your principles to go buy.

jojo alot is at play when it comes to coalitions. However, we have taken on board your views and will look into that. However, remember that coalitions are a two way street and both parties would have to find common ground. we cannot outrightly promise you this is going to happen but we will look into this. Please also feel free to like our upnd facebook page and also visit ourofficial website. Please do not mind the fools above who are insulting you. They lack any thinking capacity and are simply empty tins that make alot of noise. in other words they are pf cadres

Haters, I hate no one but I call things by their actual name. Sorry if you worship Hakainde. He just ain’t my political cup of tea. Where you depend on him for the political fortunes of upnd, I see him as a stupid opportunistic bigot who thought his money could buy him the presidency by cashing out real substance in Saki & Chisanga (the real disciples of Mazoka). You & NEZ may never say it coz you worship the 53year old boy.

Iwe kachikala ka NEZ that is what you idiets in updn believe, that only that unsalable hh can be your president! Its a pity that despite all the efforts the villagers in Dundumwezi, Magoye, Moomba, Chisekesi etc have made to vote overwhelmingly, your product hh still cant sell! Why cant you just get rid of this unsalable product which is causing you heart aches day in day out?
By the way, which University did you go to? I strongly suspect its one of these cheap universities in backyards where they even sell freezits because most of your arguments lack substance and can only be compared to a sophomore dropout!
Wake up mwaice from your gankata hangover and smell the coffee in the winning team!

    • Hello Haters   July 2, 2015 at 11:50 am

Why so much interest in UPND, and not your party? What would you call an employee in a particular firm with so much interest in the affairs of another competiting firm, who even has the audacity to suggest who should be CEO or Chairman for that organization, there so many newspaper headliner party presidents, many rush to the radio presidents and swallowed up by pf presidents, hibernating party presidents, that might need your advice, for now UPND wants to ensure that Zambia does not turn into a one party state, that’s why most of you chaps would like to see UPND disintegrate, just concentrate on building your party so that we meet in 2016.

      • kakolwe   July 2, 2015 at 12:01 pm

You are the only, I say it yet, ONLY opposition party worth a race. Not all of us are cadres but are interested persons. We may have to seek alternatives to PF when things go bad. Your segregationist, elitist, or foolishist approach lives us with no options. That is why we talk about you.

haha very funny. While you chaps are busy celebrating winning seats from the mmd in your strongholds and after using violence in mulobezi just like happened in livingstone, we in the UPND have moved on and carrying on with our sensatization process. Zambia has a long way to go before credible elections can be held. It is not an over night process, that is why we in the upnd are happy with the little gains we have made in your strongholds. The battle still goes on. We will not give up bane. If you think using inducements to get votes and also using fear by abuse of government machinery is the way to go then you are in for a rude shock soon. kiki mukose.

  21. Judge Joe Bidden   July 2, 2015 at 5:34 pm

    Lets look at “kikiki ukose”
Who needs to uku kosa, the winning or the losing one!? Who is actually suppose to be strong and steadfast? the one beaten and lying on the ground or the one still standing and still kicking? Since January UPND has lost all 7 bye-elections yet I still hear “mukose” from the losing side!? Its very ironic for a person being beaten everyday telling the person who is beating him ati – ukose mune! 😀 I just find it silly if not stupid.

    • New Educated Zambia©   July 2, 2015 at 5:55 pm

not a surprising comment coming from a PF illiterate cadre masqerading as a judge. If you were really a lawyer you would realise that the only seat the UPND lost was mulobezi which under a normal and effective running country with effective structures, would be nulified due to violence and reports of government machinery being used to intimidate opposition. The numbers are there for you and I to see. The same happened in livingstone. Why is it that when the PF wins seats in UPND strong hold the elections are never clean or marred with violence? do you know that violence disenfranchises voters who are not political but have a say? You are a very useless PF cadre and now everyone can see for themselves what a fool you are. I started over 3 months saying that you are not upnd and are a dreamer. stay strong. if we arelosers why are you so bothered and concerned?

      • kakolwe   July 2, 2015 at 7:12 pm

Iwe NEZ! I have told you that WE ARE CONCERNED BECAUSE PF HAS NO (ZERO) OPPOSITION that can seriously challenge them in their leadership. You were a semblance of opposition but all you do is attack the personality of players in the arena and you are regarded as toothless dogs with loud barks. We need an opposition that can make Lungu shake the way Mazoka & Sata made Levy & RB dance. You puppets just exist in the www. Zambia. Ifikoo.

Hakainde Hichilema is a cheap and amateur politician whom I will not waste time arguing with, says Wynter Kabimba.
And Kabimba says the unprecedented development projects under PF have politically disarmed Hichilema.
Reacting to Hichilema’s statement that he was a “walking stick for President Michael Sata” and that he had no following, Kabimba said he was way above Hichilema’s approach to politics.
“I can’t sink so low to that level of debate. I believe in engaging in an intellectual debate; that is my character. I won’t be provoked by cheap and careless statements like the one coming from Hakainde. I am way above that,” Kabimba said.
He said Hichilema’s desperation had driven him into name-calling.
Kabimba said the UPND leader was so gullible that even people purporting to be intelligence officers were milking him.
