UPND Should Force HH To Retire From Politics -Mwaliteta
OBVIOUS Mwaliteta says the UPND should force its leader Hakainde Hichilema to retire from politics because he is becoming a liability to the opposition political party.
Commenting on the PF’s victory in Mulobezi, Mwaliteta, who was leading the campaign team in Machile, said the UPND was no longer attractive to people. “They should just go back to the drawing board and start thinking of dissolving that party and start a new UPND with new people. They should change the top leadership; they should tell Hakainde to retire and leave other members who will see sense in the One Zambia, One Nation motto. He (Hakainde) is a liability to them,” Mwaliteta said. He said if the top leadership of UPND was changed, it might change people’s perception of being a regional party. Mwaliteta said with the current leadership, the UPND would find it very difficult to win the 2016 general elections. “If you lose three by-elections and you are only remaining with eight months before the general elections, how do you recover? What makes a good president are not riches but humbleness,” he said.
Mwaliteta, who is also Lusaka Province minister, said Zambians had now seen that they could only get development from the PF government hence the victories in Mulobezi, Petauke and Malambo. “Zambians are thirsty for development and have now realised that they can only get development from the PF government, which has assured massive infrastructure development in the country, which was lacking,” he said.
“Zambians have confidence in the PF hence the results of the parliamentary by-elections…. The message is clear and we are very committed to making sure that development reaches the furthest of this country; to the poor of the poorest.” Mwaliteta said it was sad that the Mulobezi by-elections were marred by violent incidents. “I know the UPND very well in that if they know that they will lose, they resort to violence and I thank God that I was not there because they would have given an excuse to say it is Mwaliteta.
I was saved by an illness,” he said. Mwaliteta added that today the people of Mulobezi were travelling in comfort instead of being bundled up in the same train carriages with livestock as was the case during the MMD government.
He said Mulobezi was too poor to vote for an opposition member of parliament, who would just go to Parliament and drink tea and get an allowance without facilitating any development.

mwaliteta UPND cant change a leader reasons simple in UPND all pipo a dull such that they cant lead the party coz they ve never gone to school the only one who is educated is HH.BUT us in PF ANYONE can become president reason simple many went to school.

If Saki was allowed to take over the UPND Presidency after Mazoka,after being his deputy for 8yrs,it would have been another good story for the Party.But now under HH,kaya.Sejani once said ythat UPND will never be led by a non-Tonga.

If saki is your man, he formed his own party, where is he today? Swallowed up? UPND have been hibernating somewhere in his jacket by now, guess people saw this, and made the right decision, once said, onced said, have heard, have heard this country we should be serious no wonder most court cases are being dismissed. Have never heard not even a single recording of someone saying that only a tonga. Where do you get all this nonsensical ideas from my friends?

If this was a true, the National broadcaster with its inclination to the ruling party would have been delighted to give the people that info, they have the videos of that convention it was on TV, the only biggest challenge that convention had is that it was tightly contested by two traditional cousins and when this is at play people tend to go into extremes sometimes, but it was entirely a cousins affairs at play, people got offended and have moved on, there was nothing like a show of hands, legs, pangas and court injunctions.

Mwaliteta is trying to weaken UPND by suggesting change of leadership. The only alternative now to PF is UPND and HH as the leader/president. Sakwiba would have sold the Party for a whim of his professional misdeeds. He formed a party that never went anywhere and him being a president would have weaken UPND. Ba Mwaliwet concetrate on the BSB dissent than commenting on UPND. You should be ashamed that you are sinking the economy, Massive load shedding(We have had worse droughts than this year’s, rising foreign debt, joblessness, wage freeze, inconsistent tax regimes, dented foreign image with an arrogant king the list is endless.

why are pf suportaz so concerned about upnd? a small tribal party. what about fdd, general tembo left them with many mps, now they only have 1. so ba pf leave us with our kachema hakainde, instead focus what little brains you have on solving load shedding, kwacha depreciation,cbu strike,tazara strike,debt, inflation, budget deficit etc

It is not about being a threat! It is the only opposition party with a semblance of challenge to the ruling party. It is lopsided for Mwaliteta to give that advice. But, for me, a political observer, I’d be glad to see a stronger upnd so that PF does not sit in this comfort Zone of knowing that they have no real challenge from upnd anymore. Truly, HH’s best chance at the presidency came & went on 20th Jan 2015. Unless nothing really dramatic happens in the next 15 months. A Miracle!

Mwalitetas advice reminders me of a Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary, who told the interviewer that his best friend who was well built and more pumped than him lost Mr Universe to him because he was always giving him bad advise on what to do when on stage. An opponent can only give you bad advise nothing else.

MWe baZambia, politics of personalisation on tribal lines will not help Zambia. You are breaking Zambia into ethnic grouping. each time you are reminding each other of the tribe he/she belongs. why can’t you concentrate on developmental issues? People will not eat your political bickering. Wasting time on mud splashing will mess the well bred Zambia fame. Leave politics to guys who are already in politics unless you want to be one of them. Eddie and his party fought for presidency so too are other parties. HH and other parties too want the same big post and the only way to defend it is by giving the populace what they deserve and name calling. If the people lot Zambia get what they want, there is no way they can change the regime. Remember there were the famous MMD and earlier UNIP , people of Zambia changed it and so too can happen to any other party if it doesn’t perform. Actions will determine the type of government people will desire. Castigations and tribal hatred will never bring Zambia to greater heights where it belongs. It should be as always “One Zambia one Nation”. Some Nations admire you as a united Nation.
