280 UPND Members Defect
Patriotic Front -PF interim Mobilization Chairman, Paul Moonga has called on the people Southern province to rally behind President Edgar Lungu.
Mr. Moonga says President Lungu is working tirelessly to better the lives of all Zambians.
He said this in Pemba on Sunday where 280 UPND members defected from their Party to join the ruling PF.
One of the defectors Jimmy Dons who served as Lusaka Deputy Mayor from 2006 to 2011 says he has decided to join the PF because it is an all inclusive party.
Mr. Dons says this is demonstrated by President Lungu’s action to appoint ministers from the opposition to work together in developing the country.
But UPND Deputy Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says the defection of such reported UPND members was staged managed.
Mr. Mweetwa however says Zambians are at liberty to join any political party of their choice. .
He also claims that the UPND is the only political party that has witnessed tremendous growth after the 2011 General elections

UPND has seen a big growth since 2011 than any other part acoding Mweetwa. That’s a very good bad defence badala. Just accept that pipo are daily moving out of your part. Look at how you have be loosing by election, paliamental & local? That’s a good way of rating your part.

Cornelius is an mp eating, whilst his friends are in the cold, should they wait for whatever time the upnd will form government, in order for them to get employed? no no no no. May be in pf they may be considered for some jobs in order for them to feed their families.

The defections are stage managed.Come 2016 we shall see.Some are saying those who have defected are tired of suffering.They want to be given jobs in PF. I thought jobs are given to all Zambians regardless of their political affiliation.
