The Energy Regulation Board -ERB- has increased the pump price of petroleum products effective midnight Monday.
Petrol has been increased by K1.13n and diesel by K1 while Kerosene has been adjusted upwards by 72 ngwee.
Petrol will now cost K9. 87n per liter from K8.74n and the new price of diesel will be K8.59 n from K7. 59n while Kerosene will now be K6.12n from K5.40 n.
ERB says the depreciation of the Kwacha has mainly been caused by the global strengthening of the US dollar against major currencies, low copper prices and weak foreign currency inflows.

President Lungu at work. He is a hardworking president indeed.
He wants to make sure that before he leaves office next year, he would have made 90% of Zambians poorer than ever.
Edgar Lungu for you.

Inasmuch as this is global problem, we shouldn’t hide on that. Yes its global but what plans have we put to control these global presure? The best thing is to stop expoting our copper as row but process it localy & make finished product of seling to the world. Lets invest in agriculture, we can feed Africa than puting owez trust on coper, soon it will finish.

An increase of 13% is alot you chaps above my comment you only think an increase will just remain at petrol level expect other commodities to increase by almost same %age as transport costs will affect goods and traders will try to transfer costs to consumers. If you are used to hardship you won’t see it relevant to your lives kabili mwalibelela but this increase should a concern to Zambians that need a better. This is not politics but people’s lives and PF again is failing Zambians.

Kikiki ati ifintu ni lungu. The country is in darkness. Kwacha is at its lowest. The cost of living will also go up with fuel increase. And yet the pf minions will still say ifwe ni lungu chabe. A clear sign that the only tribal chaps are the pf because no normal suffering man can vote a party that is this useless. Vote upnd

And the surprising thing is they are busy justifying all these things happening in Zambia as if its normal. That’s why you are leaders, find solutions. Me and my president HH, are just looking and laughing. Come 2016, vote HH for a BETTER Zambia. Zambia Forward.

This is so annoying!! and to think some people here like @Observer are trying to shut some of us from commenting on this issue is beyond words. What is wrong with you PF cadres kanshi? This country is moving 20 years backwards in very fast strides and you are adamant about this useless party? Enough is enough.

Every time its Kwacha-kwacha-kwacha;will that Kwacha ever gain value???? Maybe Africa let’s just comeup with one African currency, since we are failing to sustain our own currencies.

Pick up your phone and call Greece ask it what happens when your currency is so weak and you share the same currency with stronger economies… It will tell you I ended up being a Euro Open, they all screwed me!

I agree with you. Ngandu Magande did a good job when he was Finance Minister. He had his own ambitions at some point, maybe that is why he has been sidelined.
