Kambwili Warns Individuals Organizing For Special ‘Tongas Meeting’

The Official Announcement of the National Tour of the Africa Cup of Nations Trophy in ZambiaGovernment has warned of stern action people from Southern Province organizing a special meeting for Tonga speaking people on Saturday to discuss the recent tribal remarks by PF Secretary General Davies Chama.

Some named Tonga speaking individuals have placed an advert in the media calling for a special meeting to be held on 19th July, 2015 at Sparkles Events Center in Choma to discuss the way forward concerning the remarks made against them by Mr. Chama.

But Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili has told Journalists in Lusaka that the named individuals will face the full wrath of the law.

Mr. Kambwili says such kind of behavior should not be tolerated when Zambians are striving to be united forever.

He says even Chiefs from Southern Province cannot support such calls considering that they held a meeting with President Lungu a few days ago to discuss the same matter.

Mr Kambwili has named the top two individuals organizing the meeting as Dr. Kabeta Muleya and Professor Benjamin Mweene, warning them that they will be lecturing in prison if not careful over the matter.

My question exactly….kikiki…ati boma ni boma…atase….

This kind of behaviour by PF and Kambwili in particular is tantamount to dictatorship. So people cannot convene to discuss their grievarances kaa? Very stupid indeed. Moreover who is supposed to be brought to task? Chama or the people who grieved (in this case the tonga speaking people?). MALABISHI of a Government. Come 2016 they must pack their goods and go.

C’mon Tonga brothers, stop senseless tribal meetings? If you and brother HH have money contribute money for tructors, bore holes and solar power for your homeland thats development!
Why did nt you call for meeting when Mukombwe said its time for Tonga to rule? Now you are all mad at Chama’s madness? Chiwamile galu kuluma mbuzi, osati mbuzi kuluma galu?
Now ,imagine if Kusefwa pa ngwena also mobilised? And what would happen if impis from earstern province also mobilised and supported Chama? Who can settle the dust ? lets all just accept one Zambia one nation!

The solution is simple, let no one use tribal remarks on anyone. That way, peace will be kept.

Why should Kambwili stop Tongas from having the meeting, who the hell does he think he is.we have already booked flights to fly home to attend the meeting.
We just want to talk about developmental issues in our province.why should that be a problem?

Attempting to create a state within a state, a treasonable case indeed. Those who are advocating this should be separated from their families by jailing them!

@Isaac…for some reason I have been following your comments…I think its because they are one of the worst in this website so far…to be very frank. Your comments always warrants a response from me…My question now is (since you are on record of being a very strong PF supporter and hate tongas with a passion), I was of the opinion that you would be very happy to let the tongas have their own state? (Not for this idea though). What is the problem?

I AM NOT TONGA BY TRIBE BUT MR CHAMA WAS VERY WRONG TO HAVING MADE THAT STATEMENT PERIOD. MR KAMBWILI SHOULD ALSO TRY HARD TO BE CAREFUL WHEN HANDLING THIS ISSUE.I COME FROM A FAMILY WHERE TONGAS, BEMBAS, LOZIS AND CHEWAS ARE REPRESENTED. AND I AM VERY PROUD AND COMFORTABLE OF THIS MIX. A WRONG IS A WRONG EVEN IF EVERYONE IS FOR IT. GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

Rule of Law and human rights: There is no law in Zambia that forbids or incriminates secession talks – it is far from being treason!

Challenge: Could somebody cite any part of the Constitution that criminalises civil expression of secession (quest to separate without threat or use of force)?

CHUUNDU CHAITWA’ WILL GO ON WITHOUT FAIL- HAMAKOWA

ONE of the organizers of the ‘Chuundu Chaitwa’ says the meeting scheduled for July 19, 2015 to discuss PF secretary general Davies Chama’s recent tribal remarks will go on without fail.

Mr. Edson Hamakowa in an exclusive interview with Mwebantu New Media said the meeting was ‘definitely’ going to take place on Sunday.

“Chiefs are meeting today to discuss the same matter and us as the people will meet on Sunday,” said Mr. Hamakowa.

The grouping has listed prominent known Tonga’s as contact persons. Among those named include former Legal Affairs Minister Vincent Malambo, former Secretary to the Treasury Professor Benjamin Mweene, academician Dr. Kabeta Muleya and businessman Cosmas Cheelo.
