Retired Police Officers Should Vacate Camps

Dear Editor,

Can the Ministry of Home Affairs look into the issue of retired police officers who have gotten their dues but still stay in police camps because it seems the camp masters are not doing their job.

Officers who are still serving have no accommodation, yet retirees are resisting leaving police camps, what are they afraid of?

Could they please be removed to create space for others?
Besides, they do not even look after the houses properly.

Which ones are you calling houses?? As far as im concerned those rooms are too small too even be called chicken runs. Uless you are talking about the newly constructed flats, otherwise nganitulya utwakale, this is a foolish article.

How on earth has this behavior being tolerated? When one retires he/she needs to vacate upon retiring and chase their payment from their villages

If the retired officers have been paid repatriation fees, they must leave. Otherwise, in their logic, staying on is the only security they have. We all know when the employee is reaching retirement age, how do you fail to prepare for his D-day? Funding?

And to the retired officers, prepare for retirement, leave the camp. You can claim balance later.
Imagine if Mampi’s or Koffi’s or Rick Ross’ dancers were to refuse to vacate the dance floor, what are going to end up with? Old former blacks with missing dancing to Skol Mandramanda?
    “Shhkol, shkol….”?? or “Thkol, Thkol…”?

It’s a shame for these retirees to cling on to those small or tiny so called police houses. As a fact these cops solicited for monies through out there tenure and still didn’t plan for cold days? I respectful urge the powers that be to kick them out ASAP.

I suportthe move of evacuating Police housesimmediately after retiring to pave way for fresh blood. Having retired in 2008 immediately moved out of an institutional house (Police) and hoped be given my repartriation money to transport all my proPerties but up to date the government is deadly quiet about paying me, infact I must use the term WE for we’re many here at Itezhi-tezhi who are loosing transport money at an expense of being told to travel to Police Service Hq every month end to chech for our money but in vain. Surely one may loose trust in those behind such payments delays hence other projects 3e being given first priorities. Mind you we are retired but not tired. We are still useful in one way or another for you may require our expart services soon. New brooms sweep clean but old ones know all the corners.
