State Dismisses HH Assassination Claims

Hakainde-HichilemaGOVERNMENT says it takes great exception to allegations by United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema that the Patriotic Front (PF) administration is plotting to assassinate him.
Chief government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili told a media briefing in Luanshya yesterday that to make such claims, Mr Hichilema does not understand the politics of the country.
“He is under-five and needs to grow up. There is no way the PF government would want to assassinate him because he is a political player. The best for him is not to raise such accusations but to assist Government in finding solutions of the problems that the country is facing,” he said.
HH and LifwekeloMr Kambwili was reacting to Mr Hichilema’s accusation that violent political attacks on him are a ploy to assassinate him.
Mr Hichilema told a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that attacks on him and the UPND on the Copperbelt last week by suspected PF cadres are allegedly an attempt to kill him.
Meanwhile, Mr Kambwili has said the increase in the pump price of fuel was not the PF government’s making but international market forces.
Mr Kambwili, who is minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, said: “The increase in the pump price of fuel is not determined by Government but by the international oil market. So it will be petty for someone to heap the blame on President Lungu for the increase in the pump price of fuel.”
On load shedding, the minister said the people of Zambia should understand the effects of global warming that has caused low water levels in the reservoirs for power generation.
He said members of Parliament (MPs) were taken on a tour of Kariba Dam for an on-the-spot check of the low water levels for power generation.
“It is of God’s making and not President Lungu. The Zambian people should take time to understand the issues of global warming. So it is wrong for someone to come and heap the blame on President Lungu,” Mr Kambwili said.

They are actually going down. Kambwili is another chap full of water in the head. can u start blaming God for the fuel prices??? Gosh… Ask RB & ECL why the fuel has gone up. Remeber the Dalbit contract…….

I think there is a huge leadership deficit in the Patriotic Front. If the Information Minister alludes load shedding to an act of God, then why not use the constant natural supply of solar energy to produce electricity ? Zambia needs to think outside politics.

It is only in Zambia where people associate success with going to school. I am tired of insults like ‘form 2′ or grade 7..look, Edgar Lungu is a graduate from Law School yet he has failed to lead the country….any one with an entrepreneurial spirit can lead Zambia. In fact most successful people had problems finishing school

There is and should be a starting point to everything. Top positions in Government should be led by educated people; reasons being that it is easy to articulate issues when one is learned. Ofcourse there are a lot of educated fools out there, but education should be recognised as a starting point…..we are having a problem in this country because of semi-literate politicians. @Voice of reason, what is upsetting you so much dear?

            July 20, 2015 at 4:05 pm

            Trixy,

There is nothing really upsetting me. However,’talking down’ people that do not have enough desk experience is not the way to go. And further, Zambia has no place for entrepreneurial innovation to dictate national development. We are busy recycling graduates that have failed to bail the country out of extreme underdevelopment. ..We cannot even come together to turn ideas into action because we are expecting graduates from our ‘mostly closed’ universities to solve the disturbing status quo. ..

The Problem with mr Kambwili he thinks Politics is a game of exchanging words with the opposition, his honour this is’nt the time to talk or answer back to oppossition, Pf’s strategy of nabbing members from Opposition has finally cost the country thru unecessary costs for by-elections, for sure things have gone bad in our country, and this is the only time u can shut your mouth and show pipo that u can think! by trying to stabilize Load shedding, fuel prices e.t.c before the next elections!!!

who is tribal a person who votes for good, dynamic and visionary leader and a person who votes for static, drunkard and visionless leader.

If tongas are tribal, then why are bembas and nyanjas not voting for HH. this tell us that all tribes in Zambia are tribal. It is therefore wrong to pinpoint one tribe as tribal.

who is tribal a person who doesn’t want to speak other tribes’ language and a person who joins in other languages. Bembas and Nyanjas despite all the leaders you vote for you are still poor and live in abject poverty. you are tooooooo lazy to work and comprehend realities.

If the water levels in Kariba dam is very low y cant you raise the level by pumping in some water. The mines have bigger pumps and can assist in this since they are also affected. This can take only two months and the situation will improve. Those pumps can pump to about 1000metres from underground.Iam sure God has given us brains to think, we only need to work together than killing one another. The only problem in Zed is others like leadership when they can not solve even a very simple issue, too much love for riches.
