‘Pot Belly’ Remark On President Lungu Saddens FDD
The Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) spokesperson Antonio Mwanza has expressed deep disappointment on Fourth Revolution Party President Eric Chanda’s statement directed at Republican President Edgar Lungu. Commenting on Chanda’s statement alleging that the Head of State had developed a ‘pot belly’ since taking offce, Mwanza says it was very sad and unfortunate that Zambian politics were now taking a personal route rather than focusing on real issues affecting the country. “I find the statement by Comrade Eric Chanda saying that President Sata would be shocked to find that President Edgar Lungu has developed a pot belly to be really sad and unfortunate. Surely, to reduce the debate to the physical appearance of the president is really below the belt. It is not right. It is wrong and out of taste and character.” Mwanza said. And the FDD spokesperson says people should not expect President Lungu to maintain the same look now that he was leader of the country. Mwanza stated the Head of State’s status in society had changed and there was no harm if he changed his appearance. “You can’t expect the President to be looking the same as he was looking when he was in Chawama. His status has changed so has his physical appearance. In any case, we can’t reduce ourselves to debating peoples pot bellies.” Mwanza said.

Iam telling you Zambians when they have made up their minds they will vote hi out, but if not, no amount of hate, scorn, insults will force Zambians to decide otherwise. Remember the nature inclination of Africans is to sympathise with the down trodden. Look at the above portrait of the critic, does that look like an incoming Zambian president or an incoming mental patient who has long over due resided wrongfully as a free normal citizen? President Lungu is just okey. The opposition have no clue as they have not suggested alternatives to resolve Load Shedding. It could have happened to any President who could have taken over after losing MCS (MHSRIEP). Mwe bantu Load shedding is either a ZESCO made problem on Lake Itezhi Tezhi of course coupled with a natural disaster. Yes, H.E. Lungu can be blamed because he is the current sitting President. But let us be fair to him. Zambians are not stupid to be swayed by uncalled for insults, and not offering alternative solutions to help the situation. Zambia’s long term plan should have forseen a rise in power demand and each successive Government should have budgeted for a calamity to happen. This is a wake up call for Zambia in Agriculture, Electricity and Oil. Contigencies must be provided for. Attacking President Lungu barely 6 months of taking office is very unrealistic and will not take us anywhere. The opposition may be taking us backwards instead.
