Police Clear GBM

11954659_977969758922092_369626935917025230_nPolice have cleared UNPD Vice President for Administration Geoffrey Mwamba of any wrong doing over allegations that he held public political meetings in Kasama without a Police permit.

Mr Mwamba appeared at Kasama Central Police this afternoon after being summoned for questioning.

Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda has disclosed to Qfm News that Mr. Mwamba who was in the company of his wife, clarified that he was in fact buying fish and not holding public political meetings as suggested.

Ms. Chanda says for the fact that Mr. Mwamba who is also the former Kasama Central Member of Parliament was able to justify his actions he has therefore not committed any offence.

She states that Mr. Mwamba has however been advised to in future always notify the Police whenever he wants to hold a public political meeting.

She has also appealed to all political leaders in the country to abide by the provisions of the public order Act each time they want to hold public gatherings.

Ms. Chanda says this is in order for the Police to guarantee their security.

Watch out for those red beret cadres, they have the potential to cause riots. Ba GBM was defense minister and he was properly protected; now he thinks those cadres can protect him against boma?

Just wonder whats wrong with our Police system, umuntu aya ku market to buy fish, a person like GBM expect people to come and greet him as a person, businessman, former MP, former Defence Minister, employer etc Should these political bigwigs stop going to the market? Didnt they do same thing with HH who was just buying rape? Nonsense. Whats even more stupid they run out of ideas what to charge these people for.

Bravo ZP and GBM for showing maturity on this one. Sometimes it helps just to say sorry we got our facts wrong or we were misinformed, you are free to go, next time you wish to have a meeting let us know we offer you protection. GBM goes, thanks guys and advise taken. Life goes on. Arrests are not always necessary. Police Officers are just human who have relatives in all sectors including politicians. Lets support them cause one way or another we still need them. Good day Zambians.

All are innocent until proved guilty by the courts of law.
The police have powers to summon us when they need to clear an issue or indeed clear ourselves on certain matters.

Police ya pa Zed. Why did they go riot gear first of all. They were in fact the ones who were being disorderly. I wonder what has happened to the plain clothed officers. At least the officers should have been in plain clothes before they understood what GBM was up to. That is the duty of the Police Intelligence Officers (PIOs). Not to go and embarrass themselves and GBM like that.

This cop Sakala wanted to corrupt the authority to earn himself a promotion but ended up been embarassed by the top brass who saw no infringement on the public order act. These are chaps who tarnish the name the service for promotional expedient.
