Am seek & tired of these mine accidents. It is like there are no safety measures. When Kaunda was running the mines (ZCCM), accidents were rare, yet the mines were very large.

Working underground is safer than going to where NEZ likes going. Roads are much more dangerous than being underground that I can assure you. Everybody gets to hear about each and every mishap underground while very few people even heard that 24 verging perished on their way to be chosen by the King in Swaziland.

kiki where do i like going? Am meeting stakeholder and well wishers who want to see the UPND form government in 2016. I am in norway and the safety and infrastructure is amazing here. Yet norway does not have any where near the natural resources we have in zambia. It means somewhere down the line people have mismanaged the nation. The pf is evne failing to provide us with adequate electriity. surely how can they ensure safety of miners

The government safety inspectors should be investigated for corruption. I say so coz, they take money from the mines, they are mandated to suspend operations if the working place is not safe; look at mindolo mine all the equipments are old old baba!! Plz Lungu intervene to save the lives of poor miners.

MSD should also look into chinese mines like NFCA and sino metals were they have only one safety officer to see the safety of the company.
