Serenje Woman Cuts Her Newly-Borne Baby Into Pieces
A 34 year old woman of Serenje has been apprehended on suspicion of cutting her newly-borne baby into pieces.
Police are still investigating the matter but preliminary findings resulting from a postmortem on the flesh found in the woman’s possession show that it is that of a human being.
The woman, identified as Estella Misela of Chieftainess Serenje in Central Province, now faces a charge of infanticide.
Relatives to the accused alerted police after noticing that her pregnancy weighing around eight months had suddenly disappeared.
Central Province Police Chief Lombe Kamukoshi confirmed that the woman had been apprehended but further details on the matter will only be released after investigations have been concluded.
“I can confirm that we have received that report but we are still investigating the matter and the woman has been remanded in custody,” Ms Kamukoshi said.
The suspect was apprehended as she spread the human flesh on some leaves.
Last year, a woman of Serenje was arrested and later released for lack of evidence to pin her for chopping her baby into pieces and cooking the body parts.
A civic leader who chose anonymity appealed to the police to subject the woman to a medical check-up considering the heinous act committed.
In another development, 32 Mkushi residents have appeared in the magistrates’ court for malicious damage to property and riotous behaviour at the weekend.
They were accused of damaging property belonging to Mkushi Copper School. They were also linked to the theft of mattresses.
Of the 32, only one juvenile pleaded guilty to stealing a mattress while the rest denied the charge.
Disorder erupted in Mkushi over a pupil believed to have gone missing in the area. The pupil was last seen in April this year

Am glad you guys are now getting the picture from the comments above. I mean come one guys, what would lead a normal human being to do such? Some of you might claim that there are people liek this in society who are not mentally stable. However, if that is the case it still means that the PF has failed to ensure support for such people in our society who are a risk to others and their own children. To cut the story short it is evident that this woman was forced due to pf’s poverty to seek the services of a witch doctor who advised her that killing your own would make you rich over night. Vote UPND and save a life

kiki you seem so threatened by HH. HH just like any zambian is entitled to stand under upnd provided he follows the right procedure. HH has followed the constitution and he is legally entitled to stand. If you think you can do a better job then why not join upnd and challenge HH? You are free to do so mune. Rather than talk from the pf wall fence why not take him on since you seem to think he cannot manage the job of presidency? Let me tell you soemthing, if HH stepped down and we went to convention and it just so happens that some one from the south won, would you support them? I ask that because that is the reason behind why your small mind wont support HH. Grow out of it

HH has not followed the upnd constitution, he actually desecrates it every minutes he holds on to the presidency.
The hope the Mazoka, Chisanga, Saki, Lubinda, ECLungu & others gave to Zambia was destroyed by this lunatic called hh who thought having money was quick-access key to the presidency.

How do you say “If hh stepped down …’ Are you not agreeing with me, in principle, that there exists no constitution in upnd that talks about the office tenure? We, of the intelligent Zambians do vividly recall the founder of upnd saying “we are the only party that has an office tenure at presidential level because we do not wish to push for personal ideologies. Of course if hh stepped down due to the party having no confidence in him. As things stand he has the legal and party mandate to stand. Am on record of having been appointments of GBM & Kabimba. just as Chama is not my cup of tea now. I used to tell MCS that Winter Kabwamba was not good for the party & that appointments of appeasements were a drag on the party. Why? Geeee! There is serious lack of objectivity by more respondents / contributors. The more we cook the reason why the more we miss opportunity to correct. How can PF be blamed for everything happening including things of historic nature? The more the opposition lack objectivity the more PF become popular.
That is why ECL in in power today despite wrangles which erupted in PF just before the elections. There was so much exhibition of hate from opposition such that people opted to remain mute by maintaining PF in power. And I do not see anyone challenging ECL in 2016 because of the amount of hate. Read The Post these days and if you can summarize the key articles in a word it would be HATE!
Please Zambian let us be objective.
