PRESIDENT Lungu says there is no need to criticise him for load shading the country is currently experiencing because this is a regional challenge.
Mr Lungu said people should support him in efforts to overcome the problem, instead of criticising him.
The President was speaking on Saturday night when he addressed Kenya-bound soccer fans at National Resources Development College (NRDC) in Lusaka on Saturday night.
“Namibia, Botswana, South Africa are all facing the same problem. Support me instead of criticising,” he said.
The President said this when he was advising soccer fans against criticising coaches unnecessarily.
And President Lungu expressed concern over the poor state of infrastructure at NRDC.
He observed that the only thing that has remained intact at the learning institution is the road while other structures are in a deplorable state.
Mr Lungu said there is need to refurbish buildings at NRDC.

Do you not see that in the 7 months thing keep moving from bad to worse? When someone starts cleaning a dirty window, the minute he starts, you will begin to see through it. Not in this case.

Stop blaming others. What are you doing about it? Where is the money that was meant for rehabilitating Kariba? Yes it is a long time problem but you were voted in by the people in the hope that things will improve. If I inherit a dilapitated house; the first thing I would do is start repairing it instead of letting it get worse.

If you are concerned president you could have addressed the nation through a press conference to enable journalist question you. Why are you afraid of a press conference. During the press conference you could have told us what measures you would take to ellivite the shortfall e,g letting people bring in generators and solar equipment tax free etc

1. Remove tax on solar equipment
2. Allow reverse metering so that businesses and individuals with money can invest in solar systems and pump their extra generation into the grid.
Will not solve all problems but will make a difference

The biggest handcap Zambia has is lack of maintenance as a people we believe in building things but we have no idea how to maintain them. The day we will learn how to maintain property Zambia shall be well. We wait for pot holes before we move in councillors and district commissioners are only sleeping in council chambers or sleeping in offices only being reactive to things happening instead of being praoctive what inept leadership.

Why is it that whenever there’s a widespread regional or even international problem they are quick one ask people to understand as their are others beyond experiencing it. But of say other countries are experiencing cheaper fuel and low cost of fuel they’ll never ask us to point to these countries and why we’re not like them.

Mr President sir, Zambia has heaps of garbage that the knowlegable people can turn into mathene gas, that s one solution, number two; since our shanties have pit latrines gas can be made into electricity from that. I hope someone or you sir will take this seriously. Electricity has been made from pit latrines in some African country and lusaka can fend for itself on electricity from the garbage on cairo road. I am not being sarcastic, this is real. Hope you will take note.
