REVEALED: UPND Organising Thugs To GO & Cause Mayhem In Lubansenshi, Solwezi Parliamentary By-Election

Thw United Party for National Development (UPND) is organising thugs to go and cause mayhem in Lubansenshi and Solwezi West ahead of the September 24 parliamentary by-election, President Lungu has revealed.
The President has directed the police to prevent the UPND from ferrying cadres from Lusaka to intimidate voters in Lubansenshi and Solwezi West.
“I am given to understand that in fact as of today [yesterday], UPND is importing thugs from Chawama and I am just alerting the police to cordon Luwingu and ensure that the people who get there are well-meaning Zambians who have reasons to be there and the same goes for Solwezi West,” Mr Lungu said.
The President was speaking at City Airport in Lusaka yesterday shortly before departure for Lubansenshi to drum up support for Patriotic Front (PF) candidate George Mwamba.
He said some political parties become violent when they sense defeat.
“You know politics is like a game. Let us just treat each other with humane approach. We are the same Zambians with same challenges and when we are doing politics, it should not be different as praying together,” President Lungu said.
“We have seen different denominations coming together to worship together, different football teams playing together and cheering, this is what politics should be as well,” he said.
President Lungu wondered why some opposition leaders are making politics a matter of life and death.
“For us, we condemn violence. I have information that UPND are organising thugs in Lusaka to go to Lubansenshi and Solwezi West to intimidate voters,” he said.
He said ferrying of cadres to areas where by-elections are taking place will not be allowed and that this could unfortunately inconvenience a few people in the process.
“I want campaigns to be the way we meet at football matches, for example, where we move our flags in support of our teams, or jeer our players at times but we don’t use violence,” he said.
And speaking on arrival at Kasama Airport, President Lungu directed the Northern Police command to take charge and to search all vehicles heading to Luwingu to protect residents, HENRY SINYANGWE reports.
“I have received information that the UPND is organising thugs from Lusaka to come and disrupt elections here. We will not allow that. I will not allow anarchy in this country,” President Lungu said.
Mr Lungu urged Zambians to maintain the legacy of peace that the country is known for instead of adopting a culture of machetes.
He said this was why he appointed Mr Lackson Sakala as acting commissioner of police for Northern Province and moved the provincial Deputy Police Commissioner Alfred Nawa.
“I brought Mr Sakala, here, Nawa has gone, so Sakala I am watching you. If you mess up, I will take you to Lusaka,” President Lungu said.
And President Lungu said opposition leaders are cheating that they will change the current economic status of the country if elected into office.
“What are they going to change? The major importers of our copper, China’s currency is depreciating. The dollar has appreciated against other currencies worldwide,” he said.
He said the people condemning the PF are educated and should know the global economic trends.
“If the economy goes down globally and has affected all the countries, how can Zambia do better? Are we so special that we are an island that cannot be affected by the global fundamentals, which are worldwide?” President Lungu said.
He said the government is doing everything possible so that the country has enough power and continues to be economically productive.
“They are going to various media saying `if I am voted for, I will address the electricity problems’. How are they going to do that because what we are doing is what they would also do,” President Lungu said.
He advised the opposition to instead propose solutions to the current problems the country is facing rather than always condemning the government.
“I was expecting the opposition to be well-meaning and patriotic and come up with solutions on how we can improve because these are problems for all of us,” President Lungu said.
Meanwhile, President Lungu has said the PF is intact and no-one should cheat the people that they are founders of the party.
In reference to UPND vice-president for administration Geoffrey Mwamba’s claims when he featured on a programme on a local radio station that he is one of the founder members of the PF, President Lungu said Mr Mwamba only joined the party in 2006.
“He stood on the MMD ticket in Kabwata and he lost. That’s when he joined the PF and begged late President Sata so that he stands on the PF ticket here in Kasama after Dr Saviour Chishimba resigned,” he said.
He said the party leadership knows who the true founder members of the PF are.
“So those who come with the motive to destroy the party are wasting their time because we know each other,” President Lungu said.
He said Mr Mwamba wanted to take over PF when he did not work for it and warned the UPND that he might be planning to do the same.

Yes, HH won the online, tv and many radio polls in January, only to lose the ballot polls. Who doesn’t know how ecl won? It was victory stolen from HH for lungu, no wonder Zambia is now engulfed in a total mess of its economic fortunes – “Stolen honey really chokes”. Edgar has no clue on how to prosper Zambia, his stolen presidency is evidently sledding the country down the peckings of developmental isles. ECL’s popularity is by day trudging to the negatives, which will inevitably make him lose the 2016 polls, this time around it will both online, tv, radio and ballot loss. Believe it or not HH is the best people’s choice for the job. The ground is steadily shifting, and disbelieavably.

I was at the solwezi main bus station today around 13:30 to 14:00, only to see pf thugs and supporters, because I know some especially those who came from the copperbelt trooping in to solwezi heading to solwezi west… some were in prado others in a toyota hillux, quatro buses… after about 30minutes mr jamason (ECL) also passed via independence road….
am telling you things are bad in solwezi no one was flashing the pr symbol. the town was and is still quite as if the president is not in solwezi……..

HH:- Only a Tonga can be leader of the party.
AKM : A leader who is beaten twice shall stand aside to pave way for the next one elected at a convention
HH:- I shall be the ONLY one to stand unit I rule (emperor HH) So they shout, HH for life!q
AKM:- The party shall hold a convention every 5 years at which ALL leadership positions shall be up for elections.
HH: I am the President and shall appoint vice presidents, national chairperson and all senior positions as I please.
