MUBANGA NONDO, Ndola
A Medical doctor at Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital in Ndola has told Ndola principal resident magistrate Obbister Musukwa that her medical examinations on a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly defiled by her pastor were consistent with allegations of sexual abuse.
The doctor was testifying in a case in which Joseph Kaindu, 43, pastor of Faith Deeper Understanding Church, is alleged to have defiled a teenage member of his church.
Masengu Chilenge, 35, a medical doctor of Mukuba Flats, told Mr Musukwa that the victim’s hymen was torn, although there were no fresh lacerations on the genital area.
“The general condition of the victim when she was brought to the hospital on June 30 this year was stable, so I focused on the genital area. My findings were that there were no fresh wounds or lacerations, but what I saw were multiple bruises which had healed.
“Hence, my findings were consistent with what the victim had narrated to me before I carried out the medical examination on her, which stated that she had been sexually abused on a number of occasions, the last one being about a week before coming to the hospital,” Dr Chilenge said.
But defence counsel Derrick Mulenga argued that a broken hymen could be caused by anything apart from the alleged sexual assault by the pastor.
Ruling has been set for October 9 this year and the pastor is on bail.
Kaindu, of house number 345, in Ndola’s Old Twapya, has denied the charge of defilement.
On dates unknown but between April 10 and May 24, this year, in Ndola, Kaindu allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16

It pains me that pastors of nowadays are just money oriented. They are very much interested in money and not preaching the gospels.
Same as Edgar Lungu who is just interested in stealing government money as opposed to leading the country in a humane way.

This is very sad and unfortunately widespread especially under the PF. How many times will I ask and beg the pf to institute a task force to look into this defilement crisis we are facing as a nation? What will it take for PF to realise that this is a national problem that needs their attention. The pf are quick to respond to lungu’s booing allegations and not issues affecting our kids. Time for change has come. Vote UPND
