President Lungu EXPOSES The Post

Lungu-LuwinguPresident Edgar Lungu has said Fred M’membe has continued to attack him and his Government using The Post newspaper because he has refused to have audience with him and his cartel at State House.
At the same occasion, former president Rupiah Banda said he did not regret supporting Mr Lungu in the January presidential election despite the insults he had suffered from the private newspaper.
Mr Lungu said when he addressed a crowd that welcomed him at Solwezi Airport yesterday that he would not give audience to people whose motive was to destroy the country.
He wondered how The Post had continued to question his relationship with Mr Banda when that was not the case when he and late President Michael Sata worked closely with first Republican president Kenneth Kaunda.
“These people have been trying to see me but I have refused, so they are bitter. But I must say that I will always work with former presidents; there’s nothing wrong that this man (Mr Banda) has done to be insulted.
“The only crime he has committed is to ask Fred M’membe to pay back the debt they obtained through Zambian Airways,” said Mr Lungu, who was joined at the airport by Mr Banda.
The President said Mr Banda had not been convicted of any crime and wondered why the The Post had continued to accuse the former head of State of being corrupt.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Banda said although he had suffered attacks from the private newspaper, he did not regret supporting Mr Lungu because the current President was the right man who had demonstrated humility in his leadership.
“I don’t regret supporting him because my support was on principle and I am proud that a son of humility was elected President of this country, and I ask everyone to support him because he was democratically elected by the people,” he said.
Mr Banda noted that democracy required that the winner was supported by all but wondered why some people had not accepted that Mr Lungu was the President.
He said it would be difficult to have peace in the country if some people were refusing to accept that Mr Lungu was the President who had been elected democratically.

Kiki lungu is the most useless of presidents. How does a president lower himself to arguments with a private editor. Lungu us quick to respond to trivial issues rather than important issues affecting all Zambians. Vote upnd

Stanzo a normal person would firstly ask how long I have been in this position before throwing shade like you have. You should understand that HH stands for the truth and issue based politics. This is not so popular in many poor african states where ruling parties have used government machinery to take advantage of people’s ignorance. There is more to gain for them if their countries remain backwards as it is easy to foool people. However, as you can see things are changing now and we are hopeful that with you help stanzo we will achieve this. we thank you

I beg to differ Mr President. If Mmembe wishes to see you as head of state & him as a citizen, give him audience. And please, do not meet the cartel in camera, let them bare their bags and see them off. That way, sir, they’ll have no reason to state that ‘you avoid them out of some unknown fear’. Unless your meeting them has some security threats then, I’d put the blame on our presidential handlers.

No one is insulting lungu. Lungu by being stubborn and responding to trivial issues is only insulting himself and the presidency. Let him grow up and take responsibility by being proactive in solving the problems we face and he might get respect from the wider zambian society. We are confident that we will win you ove mambwe. I have succeeded in recruiting many supporters here. We thank you and welcme your constructive criticisms

@Gumugumu, I told you once,I tell you finally. Compare between Anderson Kambela Mazoka (AKM)’s and HH’s andvisions of upnd and tell me if it’s not Mazoka’s vision that has dies:
AKM: upnd shall be a transparent party for all Zambians
HH: Only A Tonga Shall Be President of the upnd
AKM: A leader that is beaten twice shall stand aside and give way another that shall be democratically elected at the convention.
HH: I shall be the only one standing until I decide stand aside. (Emperor hakainde)
AKM: There shall be a party convention every 5 years at which ALL party positions shall be up for election.
HH: I shall remain president and selectively appoint Vice Presidents, National chairperson and top positions as I please.
So, gumu-gumu. Whose vision has died with him? Sata or Mazoka?

RB says some people have rejected ecl as president,i have never heard anyone say so. Every zambian knows that ecl is president, but the fact that he was democraticaly elected(though rigging), doesn mean we should leave him do things as he pleaseses. Democracy entails that we must keep reminding the government of the day about their campaign promises
