President Edgar Lungu says politicians bent on using regional and tribal politics to assume power are merely wasting their time because Zambians stand for unity.
President Lungu says tribal politics have no room in Zambia’s democratic dispensation where people co-exist beyond tribal lines.
And President Lungu says pockets of tribal political divisions will soon be a thing of the past because he is focusing on re-uniting all citizens.
ZNBC’s Kennedy Bwalya reports that President Lungu made the remarks when he addressed Zambians living in New York at the Zambian Permanent Mission to the United Nations.
The Head of State also said he is not appeasing anyone in appointing people from various parts of the country to key positions.
President Lungu said he wants everyone to subscribe to the motto of One Zambia One Nation and fully participate in the country’s affairs.
Meanwhile, President Lungu urged Zambians in the diaspora to learn best international practices and use them to foster development back home.
The President was accompanied by First Lady Esther Lungu who also urged Zambians to love one another.
Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba, Works and Supply Minister Yamfwa Mukanga, Gender Minister Nkandu Luo and her Community Development counterpart Emerine Kabanshi were in the president’s delegation, along with PF Deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri.
President Lungu has since left New York after concluding his duties at the United Nations General Assembly where he made his maiden appearance and chaired a number of meetings.
The President also held several High level bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the UN 70th
General Assembly.

@GIFT, Stop telling lies to yourself. You can’t try with hakainde. Look at his Presidential CV: he respects no constitution!! He has shredded the UPND constitution and manifesto as founded by Mazoka’s team and enshrined himself as UPND life president. The oaf is a danger to democracy.

Edgar Lungu is a mess to Zambia’s economy. Instead of addressing real issues, he is buy politicking. This man mwebantu has really failed many of us Zambians who voted for him. He is a curse and he seems to be more interested in wasting Zambia’s little cash.

Failing to debate or argue out one’s case, resorting to insults. Sad indeed, better remain quiet other than exposing ignorance, shallowness of mind and blind loyalty.
A Wb/Site open to public can never be expected to visited/ used by birds of the same feathers only at all times, as blending of different thoughts, perceptions or notions has it’s own role in educating society. Look beyond party and tribal inclinations!
The Presidency is being demeaned by thoughtless voters who vote blindly for worthless individuals even when they clearly tell them that they have no capacity /vision to lead them yet, but in their blind loyalty based on tribal inclinations they go ahead to put in their worthless mediocre leadership. There’s great need to change the mentality for the betterment of the nation at large.

why is Lungu always talking abt tribelism, when you keep repeating the same thing, pipo will start doing it. Like a child if you tell them Sex is bad one day that child eill try it.
Its lungu who said wako ni wako. Call a spade a spade, say Mr HH is a tribalist coz he this and that,
my wife is tonga, mother bemba, father bemba. Child the mother is lozi. I have lived in peace no issue.
Judge Joe Bidden
October 2, 2015 at 12:17 pm
My feeling is Lungu wants to sound appealing to all tribes as a campaign method that’s why he wears that sweat shirt written my tribe is Zambian but voters didn’t put him in state house to unite Zambia but to alleviate and improve their day to day lives. Tribalism is 26th important things to tackle in Zambia according to my list, why to him is number 1, kaya.

October 3, 2015 at 6:30 am
I think the reason why its number 1 is that,we hv to b united first b4 we cn work togetha.thats why the president has called for tha national day of prayers and reconciliation.and bliv me comrades davies chama and mumbi phiri will b there, and u shud b there too,so that we cn all apologise to 1 another, reconcile and nw face our challenges as a united front

Zambians are probably the dullest pipo today.Edgar is not supposed to be preaching against tribalism because as one of Sata’s right hand man he stood by and watched tribalism spiral out of control. If he means his words and as a lawyer he realises that he is collectively responsible for the late illiterate dictator’s actions he would have honourably resigned.
Judge Joe Bidden
October 2, 2015 at 12:28 pm
Wako ni wako is very tribal and very segregating it’s similar to saying balya niba mwana malayambi (in my tribe), they aren’t part of us.
Onyx power @vampiros
October 3, 2015 at 3:03 am
Wako niwako is not tribal when applied to people of same tribe and origin like in the case of ecl referring to the malambo candidates .
Judge Joe Bidden
October 3, 2015 at 9:14 am
Yes it can used within a tribe but it still remains very segregating. It can be used anyhow even a race against another race. Bottom line a president can’t use that language at all.

Much as changing government is needed, the hate from some opposition cadres foretells avenge as opposed to solutions for development. Assess the calibre of the rainbow, fdd, upnd & other parties before you regret again. Good leaders should not wait to be in government to render help to the suffering majority.
