Chama: UPND Is Full Of Frustrated Leaders Without Any Vision Or Plan On How To Run The Country
Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Chama has said the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) is full of bitter and frustrated people without any vision or plan on how to run the country.
Mr Chama noted that it would be difficult for Zambians to entrust the affairs of the nation in the hands of the UPND because its leadership was full of resentment.
Mr Chama was reacting to UPND Presidential advisor, Douglas Syakalima who accused the ruling party of being rotten from the head.
Mr Syakalima was also quoted in yesterday’s edition of The Post as saying that chief Government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili did not know anything.
“You can see that this is the manifestation of bitterness, while there are some progressive individuals in UPND, the leadership including the President himself HH (Hakainde Hichilema) are bitter people.
“The bitterness has manifested in so many things, including opposing everything that the Government has done, so I don’t think Zambians can be fooled because they know that UPND are bitter people,” Mr Chama said.
The Ruling party’s Chief Executive Officer reiterated that the Government under President Edgar Lungu had demonstrated tolerance and love for one another which the UPND was despising.
Mr Chama said the ruling party was, however, comforted to note that some people in UPND like Bweengwa Member of Parliament (MP) Highvie Hamududu appreciated that the current economic challenges facing the nation had nothing to do with Mr Lungu.
This followed Mr Hamududu’s contribution in Parliament last week on Thursday where he said that the current depreciation of the Kwacha was caused by lack of planning by the previous government and not Mr Lungu.
Mr Chama wondered when the opposition party would appreciate the good things that the Government had done for the Zambian people.
“If you remember, these people in UPND were saying ‘we will not eat roads’ when Government under (late) President Michael Sata embarked on massive road projects.
“Interestingly, the same people turned around during the campaigns and stated that they would continue with road projects if they are voted into office,” he said.
Mr Syakalima served as UPND Member of Parliament (MP) until 2011 when the opposition party adopted Kennedy Hamudulu.
However, the former parliamentarian has been critical of the ruling party by opposing nearly everything that is touched by President Edgar Lungu and his Government.
Mr Chama challenged Mr Syakalima to highlight any development programmes that he initiated when he served as MP instead of criticising the ruling party and its leadership.

We have followed the behavior of the above with a lot of worry. And we have been wondering just where their patriotism lie.
It is not difficult to see how HH, The Post and FDD and a few others have shown their excitement at the increase of commodities and act as alarmists every day these days.
Obviously we know the collapse of the economy helps them with the hope that it will be easier to tell Zambians that PF has failed and let’s change government and that is why Nawakwi,HH, including the Post can’t participate in prayers and its an idea they would want it dies a natural death.
To these individuals, Prayers may help Lungu to succeed.God blessings will make him archive or PF archieve and that is not their wish. Prayers are against their wish. To them, if Edgar succeeds,then their chances of becoming presidents or being in control of the system will reduce. They will would want this government to fail so that they say, we told you that its us you need. We wonder what type of human beings are these.

So who are we to thing for God, he can eliminate you to answer for someone you are oppressing, you didnt know that? There goes another pothead, just guess whos talking about vision-less leadership, HH has been giving alternative remedies to some of the problems and even the president has adopted some. UPND has a straight forward manifesto why didnt this Chama read it and compare it to his self-claimed vision-less leader? Just solve Zambia’s problems PF Govt and stop looking for scapegoats in other parties, these people are petty we are tired, does pointing out whats wrong in UPND gives us whats right in PF? Nonsense.

No not in that manner, but my point basically is just as much as UPND can have its own flaws in its manifesto, PF shouldnt be concentrating on what they see in UPND but rather delivering what they have in their manifesto (the promise to the people)since they are the ones in power, because UPND can still revise its constitution in time before taking over.

Great, we on same page then. Iam not saying UPND is the best party, no but from my personal view its the only party that can offer alternative Govt thats likely to give Zambia a better chance at change looking at how PF is failing dismally. The rest of other parties are just ‘starters’.

Surely you expect to develop with such leadership? That’s why everything in this country is going wrong. Most of not all politician at moment have cheapened or reduced the qualities we need from our political leaders. It is usually said that the leadership of a country is a mirror of its people. From most of the comments on this site the statement is proving to be 100% correct. We will continue to leave this substandard type of life only until the majority of people change the way we think and stop accepting so little like at least we ate. in a land with so much GOD given resources we deserve much more!

You will be shocked, more n more people in URBAN areas where there is a good number of educated people are realizing PF is now a sham. Yes medium income group compared to villagers are seeing the effects of non-action by PF to control the economy which has domino effect on the kwacha, employment, infrastructure dev. etc Does the villagers even know Kwacha is lowly valued now? Nope. So careful how you count your provinces.
