Sad: Opposition Leader Stripped Naked During Arrest In Uganda

uganda tvA video has surfaced showing opposition leader Zainab Fatuma being roughed up and stripped by police before being bundled onto a waiting police van.

It is reported that members of the Forum for Democratic Change’s (FDC) National Executive Committee led by Kizza Besigye were travelling to western Uganda for a party function when they were ambushed by police, roughed up and detained for hours.

Some of those arrested were released only after the intervention of foreign diplomats who are closely monitoring the rapidly deteroriating political situation in Uganda.

Police in Rukungiri where Besigye was scheduled to hold a rally reportedly arrested people who were pasting posters of the FDC flag bearer.

The Uganda Law Society (ULS) has condemned the manner in which police arrested Fatuma, saying they acted unconstitutionally.

ULS’s President Ruth Sebatindira has said that the police must now bring the perpetrators to book. See full video below:

Democracy in africa is still very far from being appreciated, most especially by our so called leaders. Doing this to appease a very greedy man somewhere, shame on us.

Worse scenes will be happening in Zambia should we allow Edgar Lungu to continue governing. Please vote in numbers so that together we can bury Edgar lungu at Embassy Park.

  16. cliff   October 13, 2015 at 10:03 am

So foolish, the all forgot that the same woman they undressed and what ever they saw, even their mothers has the same! Its so shameful,if any one has no respect for any woman then how can he /she respect his /her mother.

  17. Silencer   October 13, 2015 at 10:05 am

This is just a replica of what we should expect in PF as the country heads towards the tripartite elections. Because the tone of the likes of Chishimba Kambwili, Mumbi Phiri and Chama is the living testimony to this.

  18. Chama   October 13, 2015 at 10:55 am

Is Africa ever going to change? It’s so sad

  19. wazanga   October 13, 2015 at 11:34 am

  21. Tiger Woods   October 13, 2015 at 12:08 pm

  25. Luapula Premier   October 13, 2015 at 2:46 pm

The scene is despicable & distasteful. To me Edgar is the most gentle president Zambia has ever had. Why?

KK, Chiluba Levy, Rb and even shi Michael used to react on occations. But despite innuendos by the post and other media, the man has remained a gentle man.

  26. Muyala   October 13, 2015 at 2:48 pm

The truth is that the woman in question stripped herself naked as a way of protesting. No policeman undressed her.

  27. Twapenga   October 13, 2015 at 2:49 pm

You guys can’t you see that from what has been shown the woman undressed herself? Do you have eyes to see?

  28. Shuvan Kafuwe   October 13, 2015 at 3:03 pm

whats more shocking is that her fellow women did that to her.

    • Judge Joe Bidden   October 13, 2015 at 4:16 pm

  29. chongo   October 13, 2015 at 3:49 pm

  30. Judge Joe Bidden   October 13, 2015 at 4:15 pm

  31. Bushe?   October 13, 2015 at 5:52 pm

Such things should D NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVERNEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER be allowed to happen in our beloved country, ZAMBIA. Museveni is a rogue. Just like Idi Amin.

  32. VivienChambwe   October 13, 2015 at 6:17 pm

  33. EVERGREEN   October 13, 2015 at 6:44 pm

  34. Grant   October 13, 2015 at 11:07 pm

I hate such abominable state abuse of power! Africa twasebana!!

  35. UMWAUME   October 13, 2015 at 11:29 pm

    @PETER,
Surely Peter do you have to insult me for expressing my views? Are you blind to see what has continued taking place in Africa such as killing foreigners in S/Africa, unending conflicts in Sudan, Egypt, Boko Haram, unstable DRC/Zimbabwe to mention a few? Do you have five senses or your mother only gave you 2 senses at birth because of the pain you inflicted on her due to labor pains? If you call me a Stupid person for no reason, its because you have the same line of thought with those idiots in the video. Is your mother alive? Go back to her to teach you how we live with people. UMWANA UWATUMPA, ATUKISHA NYINA.

  36. M   October 14, 2015 at 5:34 am

That is the problem of most african president of over staying in office.Museveni is one of them were opposition leaders have been treated badly.Criticism and opposition parties are the best ingredient of true democracy. Please do not bury those two and in absence of it,it we lack good leadership.
