Exposed: Lecturers Paying Students To Cause Confusion At CBU

CBU StudentsSome lecturers at the Copperbelt University (CBU) in Kitwe are allegedly paying students to cause confusion at the institution of higher learning.
On Saturday, police arrested five placard-carrying CBU students for storming Kaunda Square in Kitwe and almost disrupting the wreath-laying ceremony during the commemoration of the 51st independence anniversary.
Chief government spokesman Chishimba Kambwili said in an interview in Kitwe on Saturday that Government has information pointing to five lecturers and one member of staff from the administration department as the masterminds of the confusion at CBU.
“Let me warn these six employees at the Copperbelt University that are paying students to cause confusion that their days are numbered. We know them and we shall soon sort them out. We have intelligence information pointing to these people,” Mr Kambwili said.
The minister said one of the CBU employees is also a member of the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) and serves in the executive committee of the party.
He described as regrettable Saturday’s incident at Kaunda square where students almost disrupted the wreath-laying ceremony.
Mr Kambwili alleged that the students were paid K60,000 to cause confusion.
He directed police in Kitwe to to restore order and sanity at CBU.
He also orderd them arrest thosebrewing anarchy.
Mr Kambwili warned that students found promoting lawlessness risk having their bursaries withdrawn.
He said students should be at their best behaviour because they are intellectuals.
Mr Kambwili warned that punitive action will be taken against lawbreakers.
He also advised students to desist from being used as tools of political violence by some selfish politicians.

I have said it before.Kambwili is a champion in threats and warnings. He actually barks more than he can bite, no wonder he is now trying to criminalise a legal opposition party.

  2. sopy   October 26, 2015 at 2:31 pm

Lies lies all the time. When things are not ok just accept. The same people you are harassing you will beg for their votes next year. I see Kambwili beaten pants down even if he was to stand with a frog in an election.

Ati students being used by politicians. This is seriuos. In which country is Kambwili living? How many times do they want to be told that things are not ok? Anyway, we will meet in the ballot come 2016.

  5. Emmanuel   October 26, 2015 at 2:49 pm

Intellectuals should learn to dialogue and conclude issues. Each time,I ask myself but why do they go on the streets even damaging vehicles for innocent Zambians?

It seems Chishimba Kambwili has become an expert in threats and warnings.
I doulbt if there will be a single Zambian who would vote for his monister.
2016 will be the worst year for Chishimba Kambwili and will commit suicide after results will be anmounced and declared.

  24. Chembe Matola   October 26, 2015 at 9:23 pm

Is it that because you hate CK so much then whatever he says is trash lets learn to think through things. If its true the govt has intellingence reports about the happenings at CBU then let’s wait for action. I believe every institution has ba shushushuus as students. The govt must deal rusilessy with the perpetrators. At cbu the problem is between the institutional administrators students must just wait for the out come and not walk 7km to cause confusion no sane govt would tolerate such. Insult as much as you can But no one must pay students

    • kakolwe   October 26, 2015 at 10:59 pm

@Chembe, the question is: ” Which student needs to be paid to complain about idling in the university at a time he/she should be learning? Would you wait for some lunatic of a person to pay you so that you can put out the fire that is just starting in your house?
Yes, the battle is among govt, lecturers and students. But the one who is phucking suffering is the student. The have the right to complain in the best way they know! (Even it means reducing themselves to the grade 2 mentality.

  31. ZINGANTHROPUS   October 26, 2015 at 11:16 pm

@hunter upnd mashinsha I can’t risk my vote try NEZ chipuba chinobe

    • Ndaje Kahks   October 27, 2015 at 9:44 am

It is now common to use the vote to force something from the government. There is a town on CB where people who live on a private land have been told to vacate the area to pave for development. This areas councillor has printed T- shirts bearing word NO LAND NO VOTE FOR PF. If I was a president I can risk the vote instead of allowing lawlessness.

“Let me warn these six employees at the Copperbelt University that are paying students to cause confusion that their days are numbered. We know them and we shall soon sort them out. We have intelligence information pointing to these people,” Mr Kambwili said.

He’s lieing, he doesn’t know them, if he did and there was hard evidence against them there is no way he’d let them go scotfree.
