Numba, Chilumba Congratulate ZESCO United

ZANACO coach Mumamba Numba and his Power Dynamos counterpart Tenant Chilumba have congratulated Zesco United for retaining the Super Division title.
Numba said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that George Lwandamina-tutored Zesco deserve the title because the Ndola side fought hard for it.
“They have been consistent and really fought hard for their title. They deserve it,” Numba said.
He said inconsistency contributed to his team’s failure to win the title.
Zanaco led the Super Division table in the first half of the season but lost grip after Zesco took over the driving seat.
Numba said the bankers lost it after going down 1-0 to Zesco in a Week 14 encounter in Lusaka.
“We lost it when Zesco beat us at home and a few games we drew after that loss. Zesco had been consistent after beating us and Power. They got it right from then on and we can only congratulate them for their deserved victory. For us, it was a case of inconsistency but we have not lost hope for the second position. We will fight until the end,” he said.
And Chilumba also lauded Zesco for retaining the title.
Chilumba said his side struggled with injuries in the first half of the season and the release of some key players to the national team also contributed to the below par performance.
“We started building the team all over again and we did not have it easy,” he said.
Chilumba said Zesco is a strong side with quality players and an experienced coach.
“They put up a good fight and kept us under pressure. They were on top of the game from the beginning of the season and we can only congratulate and support them as they represent the country in the Champions League,” he said.
Chilumba said the second position is still open and Power will push until the end.
Power are third with 54 points, three behind Zanaco with two games remaining.

investigations should be instituted in the match between zesco and zanaco, match fixing was at play, zesco can’t lose with that big margin at home,,,no wonder its difficult to entrust the top most coaching job to a zambian who can easily sell a winning game to the highest biddder.hw I wish zesco played their game in the name of fair play………..away from that watch out for Nkana red devils next season,,,,I love bola yapa zed.
