Lubambo Ruled Out Of Tunisia Opener At U23 Championship

By Musonda Chibulu

Lubambo Musonda ruled out of opening CAF Under-23 Championship against Tunisia on Saturday due to club v country row sources say.

Kapan Grandzasar want the wing wizard to feature in their league match on Sunday as the Armenian club pushes for a UEFA Champions League spot.

This is because the matches which also act as qualifiers for the 2016 Rio Olympics are being staged outside the FIFA calendar days for internationals and clubs are under no obligation to release players to feature for country.

Impeccable sources in Senegal confirm the development.

Musonda who has been in blistering form netted a goal as the Senior Chipolopolo booked a place in the final round of the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers with a 2-0 win over Sudan a fortnight ago.

He may be available for the second group match against bitter rivals South Africa on December 2.

Meanwhile, striker “Sate Sate” Ronald Kampamba is set to join the squad tomorrow.

The only campaign promise which our President has implemented is to be visionless and watch football with his wife while 80% of Zambians are going for many days without food. What a president. 2016 its HH.

We can’t blame Lubambo, but CAF for poor organisation because this is an important tournament it should be registered with FIFA. Anyway Zambia is Factor in terms of football although the group is tough. Go Zambia Go
