New Status Must Not Break Marriages
Dear Editor,
THE rate at which couples are divorcing in Zambia is very alarming. We have cases that are reported in the media and those that are not reported.
Though there are various reasons that cause separation and divorce among couples, today we are witnessing divorce when a man is promoted or excels in business.
We also have women who upon getting a job start looking at a man as a nobody. The respect and affection the wife had disappears.
The new status must not affect marriages as children are psychologically affected at home and school. If you are a doctor or manager, the moment you go home you cease to be one as you become a husband or wife. Lastly, wives and husbands should find time to read 1 Peter 3: 1 – 7.

What are you talking about? Even President Lungu divorced his wife Monicah Banda Lungu in 1992 because she could not bear him children apart from Tasila. Only KK and HH stand right on this one. 2016, its HH 56%, Edgar Lungu 35%.

I thought that was a joke, until i heard the conversation between a radio presenter from Nairobi and the so called pastor. There are some real sick people out there who are bent on abusing God’s name and vulnerable people in society. Very saddening in deed.

The choice of the name of the church is because, according to the pastor, “The spirit lies in the breast of a lady… the more you suck the breast the more you get the fulfilling of the Lord.”

Pastor also revealed that his church members are all women, no men. The women are told not to wear bras, to make sucking their breasts much easier.

@Nyamazawo, iam also lost how the Pastor issue has become the topic.
Anyhow,people are going into marriages for all the wrong reasons, some its security, others wealth etc. when these things cannot be found they move on. The other reasons is lose of Rich family African values in preference for western values. Marriage counsellors too have gone commercial and not doing enough. Some marriages are contracted via social media, with little or no time to court and know each other pipo contract marriage.
No wonder the world has lost the Godly perspective of marriage and busy advancing other perspectives eg. same sex marriage.
we need counsellors who can understand marriage from a traditional African perspective, emerging trends and the biblical values only then will they be able to that holistic counsel.
Some Churches are also to blame especially the Pentecostal ones, they refuse all forms of traditional marriage counsel and instead just tell the couples let us pray, by the power of the spirit your marriage will last. Believe you me Pentecostal marriages have been breaking over petty overlooked traditional issues.

It is sad the way marrieges re endng, i think lack of ful knowledge n understanding abt marriege by some couples, n too much shot cuts nowadays. marriege is nt abt sex only as some people think, there more to it. i love my wife kids. God bless u all, peace!!.

We should understand that the enemy is against family especially Godly designed marriage and he is using these things as businesses, carries and worth and gender (equality man and woman) you mean it all, what we need is knowledge and wisdom of Gods truth. And remember the enemy knows his time is becoming shorter everyday. Women lets not move from the will of the Lord for us lets pray for our families, the Lord hears Prayer.
