Warning: Ladies, There Is No Parcel Sent For You

Dear Editor,
WE CLEARLY have to issue an alert or warning.
Every other day we receive a call or Facebook message from (female) Zambians in Zambia that claim that “a friend” (male) from Europe or USA has sent them a parcel through a postal agency containing IPhone, laptops, US$ and other high valuable item.
And then they receive a call or Facebook or email message that their expected parcel has been intercepted in South Africa (Durban, Johannesburg or Cape Town or any other town) because it contained undeclared cash (say US$5,000 or £5,000) and they ask the ladies to send US$400-US$500 in order to retrieve “their parcel”.
They give them a bogus name of a contact in South Africa and ask the recipient to send the money through Western Union or MoneyGram.
The gentleman in “Europe” and the contact in South Africa is one and the same person, just using separate Facebook profiles or Facebook and/or South Africa number.
Sadly by the time the ladies are contacting the embassy or myself they could already have sent US$100 or US$200.
Whether it is a job offer in a foreign restaurant or university scholarship provider that requests you to send “processing fees”, it is likely that it is a scam.
The fraudsters seem content with small amounts. These tricksters are scamming many people, especially young ones that are desperate for opportunities or a perceived lifetime chance.
They are being conned even out of the little money they don’t have.
But many are saying: “We have their numbers! I just spoke to him now! Please call him and pay him the balance or have them arrested!”
That’s a tall order. First the money is sent to Western Union or Moneygram and not a bank account (which would be traceable) and the phone number is probably one among improperly registered numbers used by criminals.

Ba Mwamba. It is so embarrassing that you are now shunted in South Africa when u expected to be Minister of Information or Presidential Press Aid. Warning in 2017, u will be out with yo ka Lungu who betrayed u the same way u betrayed Chiluba and Sata.
Edgar Lungu would have kept u at State House, but he feared that u would poison him as u did to Late Chiluba and Sata the Great. Join the winning team of HH before its too late. Otherwise Edgar Ubwaalwa Lungu is leaving State House next year.

WHAT HON.MWAMBA HAS BROUGHT TO LIGHT IS ACTUALLY TRUE.IT HAPPENED TO ME.I DEMANDED FOR THE BANK ACCOUNT SO MUCH THAT I COULD DEPOSIT THE MONEY BUT THEY REFUSED,I RUSHED TO POST OFFICE WHERE I NARRATED MY STORY AND THE OFFICER WHO DELT WITH ME TOLD ME THAT I WAS DEALING WITH THIEVES.

So now ambassadors are reduced to reporting scams besides aren’t there junior staff to deal with these petty issues and just sign office of the ambassador bla bla bla. There more serious issues to tackle than addressing stupid women
