HH: Govt’s Careless Talk Is What Is Scaring Investors
The opposition UPND has observed that government’s careless talk is what has been scaring investors to invest in Zambia.
UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has particularly accused President Edgar Lungu, PF Secretary General Davies Chama and Information and broadcasting Minister Chishimba Kambwili as some of the people that are incessant issuing statements that are discouraging investors to come to Zambia.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Hichilema says it is worrisome that in the last few months, President Lungu and his administration have, instead of making efforts to harness resources and grow the economy, continued to apply themselves to de-market the Country.
He says President Lungu has only succeeded in discouraging foreign investors with his continued misrepresentation of the country through negative labeling of Zambians and unwarranted unhealthy portrayal of the country’s economy.
Mr. Hichilema fears that Zambia is now perceived as a business unfriendly environment where most of the citizens are basically corrupt, dishonest, and cannot be trusted.
And Mr. Hichilema has advised Government to do more to address the energy industry in order to drive efficiency and bring down energy bills for consumers.
Mr. Hichilema observes that as responsible citizens with lots of investments in many sectors of the country, employing so many people, there is no way they could be that harmful and damaging to the country’s image by going all the way to such a high level summit and de-campaign.

It’s not only carless talk scaring investors away,pf thuggery just saw the pictures of ugly scene at the UPND offices in mpika,the graffiti on those walls just tell a story of who the perpetrators of violence in this country,then the overzealous pf police force blocking and diverting the GBM’s convoy and not allowing him to reach mpika main town just shows how we have moved a 100 steps backwards to the unip era, the only way forward is to in a mature and non violent party UPND, what Zambians need now is political freedom again and economic independence.

Just thinking get LOANS from day 1 update and if someone says borrowing is too much then he or she is piled with insults, provocative language as a trade mark. Even as an individual you can just walk in the bank and apply for a bankable loan without thinking of results. It’s true the govt can get two or three loans running simultaneously but not getting eight loans running concurrently.
Investor are seasonal business people they cannot be hindered by HH’s statement but the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them

Look at his press conference,he brought out good points nd intentions but what he is doing is 100percent opposite.trust is earned but with him there is no seriousness in doing that.
