America’s Most Hated Man, Who Raised The Price Of AIDS Drugs Arrested

Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli who earned the title ‘America’s most hated man in September’, when he jacked up the price of the anti-parasitic drug Daraprim, that benefits AIDS patients, pregnant women and cancer patients from $13.50 to $750 has been arrested.It is alleged he illegally used stock from the biotechnology firm he owned, Retrophin Inc. to pay off debts related to his struggling hedge fund and to pay back angry investors.

He is being charged with seven counts of fraud for running what United States Attorney Robert L. Capers of the Eastern District of New York is calling a Ponzi scheme.
Shkreli, 32, pleaded not guilty to these allegations and was released on a $5million bond after being arraigned in federal court in Brooklyn Thursday afternoo
He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison if convicted.

    I smell a rat here. It is a capitalist world and this man is free to increase the price of his drug. The issue here is that governments and states are not doing much to reduce the infection rates. We have foolish leaders especially here in zambia who are more interested in building roads and stealing resources. This man is just teaching them a lesson

      yes and alot of people depend on the government to use resources prudently and wisely as we pay taxes to the government. We trust them and yet they cannot even provide basic medical facilities. So really who is worse? this man does not owe you nor I anythign and yet the government does! wake up mistele

    I thank the Zambian government for providing free ARVs and other drugs related to cancer and pregnacies. I wonder if NEZ is really educated. NEZ can’t recognise the importance of Roads in economic development.
    With regards to Martin’s fraud, it is Unfortunetely that he can only be interest in profit making rather than the health of mankind. €13.50 to €750 increase is too much.
