OPPOSITION United Party for National Development (UPND) will not garner expected votes from their stronghold due to failure by its Members of Parliament (MPs) to foster development in their constituencies.
The MPs, especially those that had served two terms from their stronghold have since been challenged to cite any meaningful development they had taken to their various constituencies using the Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
Patriotic Front (PF) information and publicity chairperson Frank Bwalya said the CDF was a tool meant to engineer infrastructure growth in various constituencies countrywide through MPs.
He said the electorate was not impressed with MPs who were not adding any value or improving their constituencies, saying this would have a bearing on how their president performs in the elections.
“The UPND will not have it easy to win next year’s general elections due to their MPs’ failure to develop their constituencies using the CDF, this would have helped their president win elections by improving people’s lives,” he said.
The CDF which is a Government intervention aimed at financing micro-community-based projects to alleviate poverty is now pegged at K1.3 million per constituency.
He said people from Southern Province and other parts of the country had realised that voting for a political party that did not improve their livelihood was inviting perpetual poverty, hence their decision to go for a party that did not segregate in spreading development.
Father Bwalya said the PF MPs would equally not have it easy because they knew that for them to be adopted; they would have developed their constituencies and interacted with people at grassroot level.
“Our MPs will not have it on a silver platter, but for them it has been a question of riding on a party, they do not care about people’s lives and they still voted for them, this time people in Southern Province have seen the need to vote for people who will improve their lives,” Father Bwalya said.
“CDF is one sure way of implementing development in a simultaneous fashion around the country but looking at how it has been used, one can attest to the fact that it is not utilised accordingly especially by those in the opposition in Southern Province to be specific,” he said.
Father Bwalya warned that Zambians now know that voting was no longer based on political parties but what one has done for the people of Zambia and in particular constituencies.

Fatherless Bwalya, your sermons are very devilish and misguided. Your brain is concocted with the worst form evil formation like you never read and understood the word of God whose theme is love. How do you wake up every morning to come up with evil scheme and language against your fellow beings. You were trained to add value to society and not you’re engaged now. The current political environment is an opportunity for all participants to do the best for the people they are serving. What positive contribution have you made to society Fatherless Bwalya, not even paying tax to contribute to the same CDF you’re talking about. The burden to deliver on the PF government for which huge tax payer money is being spent keep it running. Govt is not a private entity and therefore we demand results manipulation of situation from lost souls like you Fatherless Bwalya

Is this another article by that ass licker frank bwalya kikiki mukose bane. It seems the pf is now obsessed with preaching about UPND ‘s perfmance in 2016. PF is making the same mistake MMD made pre 2011. The MMD was more interested in ensuring that the pf lost such that people could read into their desperation to win at all costs. Zambians are not fools and cannot be fooled. I am currently in eastern province and if i tell you how angry people are with pf and especially ka lungu, you wont believe it. Please be sincere. Our pre-occupation and debate should be voting for someone who can do the job. The Presidency is a job just like any other. Why are you bringing tribalism and regionalism. l think you’re a shallow minded and out of sync with modern reality of what it takes for any country to compete at a global level and survive economically. What is wrong for any region or section of society to identify someone’s presidential abilities and sponsor him for that cause. The problem we have is that certain cultures are attracted and even worship mediocrity and even people of lower levels of integrity and treat them as heroes. Think about it, why did whites in American vote for a black man as President if it wasn’t for his intellectual capacity to resolve the issues at hand. Please let us raise and set the standard for the Presidency higher come 2016. Zambia urgently needs to be proud and free at last. lt is long overdue.

We were shallow now we are going deep. Have you ever seen a Tonga voting another tribe? Why do you always want other tribes to suport you? Are you saying HH is more intellegent than Milupi, Miyanda, lungu and Nawakwi? When parties were coming togather did HH ever suport his friends? Not this time we are voting like you

Look Peter, I am not Tonga but basically putting my views and opinion on the table. A private, social, economic and financial appraisal of forerunners puts HH ahead. What attributes do you want or aspire in the Presidency irrespective of where he gets his votes. Probably the Tongas are wise and have seen some positive presidential attributes in him. By the way, you can continue having the wrong people in public offices. But sooner or later Zambia will be a serious underdog at any given scale of measure in Southern Africa. Your citizens, sons, daughters, graduates etc. will flock to neighbouring countries for dirty jobs because of your wrong choices. Do something for yourself and future generation. Be long-term oriented.

My brother Peter, l find your hatred for Tongas very uncivilized. You seem to be carrying genes from your descendants who lived in the pre-christian era during the roman empire. If our forefathers, freedom fighters and founding President crafted the ‘One Zambia One Nation’ Motto long before you’re conceived, who are you to subtract or devalue our unity and heritage? Every tribe and province has contributed so much to modern Zambia. Why should your demonise our hardworking brothers and sisters from the south? Where does the bulk of your beef, milk, fish, sugar, tourism resources come from? Not forgetting hydro-power and upcoming coal fired power plant in Maamba. Tame you evil thinking and think positively going forward.

The only to curb tribalism in this country is to promote those aspiring to become mps to stand in different regions not necessarily where they come from. Take for instance HH standing as an Mp in Kasama central and challenge GBM, because he has seen that GBM has not taken development to the people of that area. Not because he comes from that area, that’s why we have tribal madness. Siamunene- chilubi, Kambwili- choma, Dora – Mwinilunga etc etc.

Father Drunk Bwalya….bola panshi. How can UPND MP’s develop their constituencies when everything is in a sheep skin called the public order act. When us UPND visit a constituency to develop, POA comes into force saying where is the permit. How do we develop areas when more time and money is spent on permits. Let MP’s perform freely without being sidelined. Wait and see when UPND wins next year all areas will be developed not in 90 days nor 90 years but just wait and see our manifesto next year. Fr. Drunk no matter how hard you bark there is no position in government suitable for you. Shame Shame Drunk Bwalya Shame.
