PF Still Enjoying Popularity On Copperbelt – Chama

The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) says it still enjoys popularity on the Copperbelt despite the job losses in the mining sector.

PF Secretary General Davies Chama says his recent party mobilization tour of the Copperbelt has revealed that the people in the province understand better why there are job losses in the mines.

Mr. Chama says the people are aware that the PF government has nothing to do with what is happening in the mining industry.

He says people on the Copperbelt are also mindful that this is not the first time that there have been job losses in the mines as this also happened in 2008 when there was a global economic meltdown.

Mr. Chama says the ruling party is hopeful that the retrenched miners will be re-employed once the global economy recovers.

Yes, lets vote for someone who will sort out our economic challenges and provide solutions to the many sufferings the country is facing. If that person is Bemba, vote in masses, if that person is Lozi, vote in masses, if that person is Tonga, vote in masses… etc. We have too many intelligent people in this country and no need for us to be governed by clueless leaders and this country has abundant resources and its a shame that we should be poor. Vote wisely…

The pf a party reduced to claiming popularity. One can only constantly keep claiming popularity if they are insecure and feel threatened. Remember that you are a ruling party. If you are as popular as you seem to think why waste time trying to prove it. Zambians will judge you on your performance so far which is poor. Vote upnd

These sentiments from Chama shows you that PF has lost popularity in C/B. The fact that he comments on a well known fact shows that C/B is no longer a stronghold for PF and so he is trying to comfort party members. The reality will show when they vote in August and i can assure you that PF is losing there.

Am copperbelt resident, all i can say is mos people have turned against the pf govt cause it only have one working ministry (works and supply ministry) and the other ministries have gone to holiday to politic. What they are doing is to praise pf masive infrastructure development being implemented by works and supply ministry forgetting their ministries’ roles. Ministry of finance, where is it? Ministry Of Agriculture? Ministry Of Mines?

Besides, the infrastructure development they keep talking about, most people know that it’s for campaigns. No wonder they keep saying it. Remember MMD with their roads? Did they fool the people? They even introduced a segment on ZNBC, ati developmental news. CAMPAIGNS… Its like showering a girl with money just to entice her. It only attracts prostitutes. Lets wait and see how you achieve different results with similar efforts.

Next year the pattern will be like this: Magoye const.HH 17000 lungu 22. kapoche const const HH 12 lungu 33000. We want Tingas to start suporting other tribes the way we support them

HH has the flesh to trim our economic hardships brought by PF. We want our previous Zambia we had before PF where i can speak freely, move freely without being harassed, import goods with relatively low prices, moderate load shedding, relatively low prices in goods. If you think you can boast about roads when you cannot afford a bag of mealie meal then think again. Something might be wrong in your brain.

This isn’t to say HH can’t win. That would be stupid. But he isn’t a typical Zambian politician common/street voters can relate to and he probably isn’t a lot of like the class of 2015 cabinet ministers. In the end, voters might ask for more than simply being able to check off the party box for President. All other past presidential candidates offered a lot of reasons for a lot of common/street people to vote for them. What else does HH have to offer that has not been heard or seen?

We need to move away from these uncivilized politics of just popularity and who knows how to politic. How has PF popularity helped us? We need economic managers and individuals who will bring sanity to Zambian politics, provide proper solutions to the wores we face. As citizens, lets educate ourselves to a level of understanding that will help us know whats good for our lives and future generations.

It doesnt mean that when you are an economist then you can make a good economic manager, take for example Rupiah Banda, he had two companies on the copperbelt (Robert Hudson and Allan west) which he failed to run and left employees in the cold.My point here is hh may be an economist but that does not garantee him to be a good president, running a country is different from reraring cattle or owning shares in numerous companies with dubiously aquired wealth. It is serious business.
