PF Cadres Fights UPND Supporters In Lusaka

UPND Cadre BeatenPF cadres on Friday beat up UPND supporters who were passing near Garden compound police post shortly after Mandevu PF member of parliament Jean Kapata officially opened the station to the public.
The fight started when rowdy PF cadres that were clad in green overalls and berets labelled PF, spotted a group of UPND supporters passing near a Zambeef outlet shop adjacent to the newly commissioned police station. One of the PF cadres then ordered the UPND cadres to leave the area, but the opposition supporters defied the order, saying they had the right as citizens to be wherever they pleased, adding that they were also part of the Garden compound community. The response, however, forced the PF cadres to pounce on their rivals, and started throwing stones, while others engaged the UPND supporters in blows. This happened in full view of Kapata, who is also tourism minister and police officers.
When contacted, deputy police spokesperson, Rae Haamonga, said he had watched the incident on news but that no report had been recorded. “I just saw it on news. You know in Garden, there was no police post so I don’t know whether they reported before or after the opening of the police post. I am not aware. If it was after, I am not aware of that one.
Did they report? Ask them because it will be very easy for us to confirm if the matter was reported or not. So just find out if they reported,” said Haamonga. Lusaka Province UPND vice-chairman Anderson Banda who is one of the people who were beaten, said the conduct of PF cadres was disappointing. “That police is for everyone, regardless of our political affiliation but it is like PF cadres and their area member of parliament Jean Kapata have turned that police post to be a PF police post.
I don’t see what wrong we have done by merely passing here when we are also members of this community,” said Banda.

mj banda there is an element of truth in your words. the upnd strategy is to be found where there’s an activity involving pf, simply for pf to see them & to see that they are a big crowd. they even go a step further by chanting their slogans which is provocative. most of the pf/upnd confrontations start this way. I’ve even heard them (upnd) bragging about going to strategize when there is a govt activity taking place.

Any cadre found unruly and involved in provoking peace of innocent citizens MUST be jailed for 5 years or pay a fee of k10,000. Statutory laws can be enacted and uphold decency in our societies. Cadres never be used as pawns to stir disturbance ala bakakusengukapofye….and remain weka muma cell.

My appeal to the minister of higher education is that let newly built instutions stand on their own. Each instution in our country has its own culture. UNZA for exmple is like a very beautiful girl with very bad manners. Hon has a culture of lecturers having sex with students.Mulungushi very expensive yet domant. Do not transfer this to new schools

The UPND cadres were warned to stay away but they refused so they provoked the PF cadres. The UPND cadres in their little brains thought they would get public support since according to them they are more popular than PF.

NIPA is good for porn films so pliz when you give newly built instutions to these instuition you will transfer these characters. To avoid this let new instuitions stand on their own. look at CB for example it has its own culture. so minister let these schools stand on their own we have alot of lecturers

The action by the PF cadres is barbaric and uncalled for. Those fools should not delude themselves into thinking their party will remain in power forever. No one is above the law. When, not if, PF is out of government these fools will pay for their conduct.

The problem with UPND is that they exaggerate their popularity. On the Copperbelt, where I went for family funerals recently, there is virtually no UPND presence there in the townships, but UPND diehards will have you believe they have taken over the Copperbelt. Because of their stubbornness, my own view is that they should be allowed to hold rallies without police permission in places like Buchi and Chamboli. If they are attacked by PF cadres, they shouldn’t run to the police to complain. After all, they have taken over the Copperbelt! The police shouldn’t even entertain their complaints if they are sorted out by PF cadres who are actually a more dominant and formidable presence on the Copperbelt.

During unip era, we had vigilantes who were immune to police arrests because these pipo had special orders- to silence any one. The same is happening now. Police is pf, if upnd talks, they get arrested, if Nevers meets his pipo he is taergased. Nothing seems to be happening right. Jean kapata being present should have intervened. The police can’t comment because jean allowed it to happen. Every well meaning public servant has now sold their integrity in a bid to secure their jobs. This is mind slavery. It’s better to hungry and a free man than being a slave to pf.
