PRESIDENT Lungu has called on Zambians to give him a fresh five-year mandate to start new projects and to complete those that were started by late President Michael Sata.
Mr Lungu said his job has been simple during his one year in office because he has just been implementing what Mr Sata left.
He said this here yesterday when he addressed scores of people who gathered to witness the official opening of the Shiwang’andu district administration office block.
“All these projects were initiated by the late President and I am just fulfilling his vision, mine will start this year up to 2021,” Mr Lungu said.
Shortly after assuming office in 2011, the Patriotic Front (PF) embarked on an ambitious infrastructure development programme, which includes the Link Zambia 8000 road project, L400 road project, C400 road programme and construction of primary and secondary schools and universities.
Others are construction of hospitals and 650 health posts, bridges, among others, across the country.
The President said he would deliver development to all parts of the country, including regions that did not vote for him in last year’s elections.
President Lungu said he means well for the country and his leadership is of national character.
Mr Lungu warned the gathering to be careful with opposition leaders who will be seeking votes during elections but abandon them after they achieve what they want.
“Some will come claiming that they are rich but whom have they helped with those riches? Ask them when they come,” he told them.
He also urged the people to propose names of humble and easy-to-approach persons who could represent the party in the coming general elections.
Mr Lungu said power is in their hands and they have the right to choose whom they want to represent them as well as hold them accountable.
“Let’s shame the opposition and work together as one,” he said.
The head of State also urged the people to engage in agriculture as Muchinga has recorded good rains this season.
He promised that Government would carry out projects like that commissioned in Shiwang’andu.
PF deputy secretary-general Mumbi Phiri said the party would retire United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema from politics in this year’s elections.
The head of State earlier toured 20 Government houses currently under construction.
Mr Lungu is accompanied by his special assistant for press and public relations Amos Chanda, members of the central committee Samuel Mukupa and Frank Bwalya, Muchinga Province minister Mwimba Malama and Minister of Local Government and Housing Stephen Kampyongo, who is also Shiwang’andu member of Parliament (MP).
Others are State House deputy minister Mulenga Sata, business executive Austin Chewe and other senior Government and PF officials.

He is day dreaming, let him, this be first and last rule, five more years, would mean sucidior to the public , let him go for good.
It was sata, who had a vision, you did not have a vision yourself, how would we vote for you? Those projects we’re started by the late. You what you have continued is building roads, within 2 months, there potholes, and you call your self achievements full of pot holes.
That’s our president, come 2016 August!!!
Not on my life especially after I have learnt that the senior citizen who was hacked by thieves wielding panga’s and other weapons who might as well be among those Lungu releases from prison for political expediency has died in UTH where she had been admitted! Lungu will never have my vote as he condemns violence with a forked tongue yet can’t control his violent hate filled party cadres who are murderers, rapists (Gen. Kanene), spreading fear among the citizenry!
You are already in state house who can remove u unless u are stupiod. The world is in yuor hands.Guy scott is no longer a threat.Viva Edgar!

Kikikikiki 😂 exactly what we expected from him. In other words this chap is saying blame the dead man for poor performance this year and that now zambians should give him another chance. You have failed lungu and you want 5 more years to show us no vision
As usual the chap hasn’t really gave in depth views on how he will improve lIves of zambians. Bane it seems zambia has not had a president since ba sata fell ill. The country is in autopilot. August come soon so that zambians make wise decision and vote upnd
Viva Edgar Lungu the tough tested humble servant of the pipo. Hh is under 5, a street economist with zero experience. Come August ni kolopa again
Wako ni wako is Zambian…. Kikikikiki….hehehehehe…pwepwepwepwepwep,,,haha haha haha…iyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!
But kwena uyu chikala litole. Fresh mandate for what chikala? More violence, more corruption, more poverty, rise in unemployment. Idiot just rest maka pompwemushibila nsala.
Yes ba anonymous, thats the heart…. Iam at the village explaining the cause of poverty… and the solution… Call them also at your village and tell them,we need to work together to remove the stumbling block to development… P….
Remove who? and bring who? Believe me August will be the easiest elections ever experienced in this country. Lungu is winning in the first round by 69%. go round this country and see. Who can vote for HH with his bad record. sold our companies, training militia, creating meal meal shortage, maize shortage rumours by HH. we cant employ Untrained President leaving an experienced lungu,
1000 reasons why HH should not be allowed to be president. 1. His record is bad when he sold our companies. so we cant trust such a person again especially that we have revamped Zambia railways. 2. He does not have experience in public office. At least if he worked as a councilor or a teacher. 3. He is not democratic. No elections in his party. He can manipulate the constitution to be wa muyayaya.
Mr president , am with you. Vote pf (ecl)
Chagwa for life.
Continue dreaming bafikala with your useless vision less chalolwa president. He wont win because Pf has been split in two three. GBM, Kabimba and Miles sampa. So if you think these are political light weights then you are cheating your selves. Only idiots can vote for this fool.
He is crying like a baby. Unfortunately no sir. Your failures are just too much and you do not inspire us. Unfortunately your one year has been too long for us citizens and we cant even dream of 5 years with you at the helm.
Why should we vote for you??? In your quest for personal gain you have mobilised the police force to advertise your political might… completely forgetting the security of your people! Do you know how many robberies take place in Lusaka daily??!!!! Do you know how violent these robberies have become??? Do you know that the American government has issued a warning to their citizens in Zambia to be extra vigilant??? Never since 1991 have we experienced such criminal activity as during your presidency! As if we are living in the ghettos of S.Africa. And you want our vote???!!!
NEVER GIVE THIS FOOL ANOTHER MANDATE, BECAUSE UNDER PF WE HAVE REALLY SUFFERED, WE WILL TRY ANOTHER ONE MAY BE OUR LIVES CAN CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. COST OF LIVING IS VERY HIGH, POLITICAL VIOLENCE, NO EMPLOYMENT, RECYCLED POLITICIANS, HIGH CRIME RATE, DIRTYNESS OF CITIES, AND CHOLERA OUTBREAKS. THIS ECL DOES NOT CARE ABOUT US.
It will be suicidal to give Chagwa a five year term. If things can be like this in less than 18 months, what more after five years? Chagwa, ine naku kana.
Ba Lungu
Muleumfwako insoni no mwenso.
With all these failures sure you are even asking people to vote for you?
Ati give me 5yes,1ye is more than 10
