I feel the road tolling programme is a duplication of taxes. Why should people pay twice for the same service? The road tax system, I believe, is meant for the building and maintenance of roads. With prudent management, money thus collected is supposed to be sufficient for all the road needs of the country.
Why again should road users be subjected to tolling fees for using the same roads for which they pay road tax?
The tolling system should be optional, an alternative system where the RDA builds alternative roads which could be shorter or better which motorists can opt to use to save time.
To have the tolling system running parallel to the current road tax system for the maintenance of the same roads is a duplication of taxes and just places more burdens on the already overburdened taxpayer.
