What Kamanga Promised Football Fans When He Is FAZ President

By Mwamba Peni
Remember, there is always a dichotomy between theory and practice. What we perceive cannot entirely be translated into reality because when you are throw into the deep end, things are not as easy as you see them from outside.
In leadership no one is irreplaceable. Therefore, no one should be in one position forever. However, we need to hold leaders to account for their promises so that we instil a spirit of morality and integrity at all levels of leadership. We should not allow a situation whereby people say things that they cannot fulfill just to get into leadership. We should measure their success by how far they can go in delivering their promises.
Here is a list of what Kamanga promised football lovers:
1. To restructure the league especially the lower league on a monday proceeding his election because he already had a blue print. He has not done so to date.
2. To give George Lwandamina a contract and a hefty salary. He has just realised that Chicken George has a contrary with ZESCO and according to the Laws of Zambia a person cannot have two running contracts at the same time. So he was ranting about this on the basis of guesswork?;
3. All lower leagues should be played in the 10 provinces and to fund all 10 leagues;
4. To have provincial teams beginning with under 8 to 17 for the national team coach pick from;
5. To buy buses for all the 10 provinces for ferrying teams during matches;
6. To share FIFA grant amongst all clubs. Does he know what this money is meant for?;
7. To provide a pension scheme for all players and coaches;
8. All the players will be subjected to playing in the All Stars Vs The Rest game to be up for selection. Have you seen this yet?; and
9. Not to depend on government funding. We shall see how much will be drawn from the yellow book by the end of the year.

    You very much right Mwamba Peni.The same can be said about Jesus who is a hypocrite like Kamanga. Read below:
    Like all gods,devils and demons, an imaginary entity produced in the mind of primitive man.A person who is a hypocrite is certainly a jerk. No one likes a hypocrite, because hypocrites are smugly foolish. And Jesus seems to have a problem with hypocrisy. For example, one of Jesus’ most famous lines is, “Love your enemies,” as he says here in Matthew 5:43: Therefore, what we find in Mark 16:15-16 is surprising. It shows us how Jesus treats his enemies: He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned [to hell]. This is “good” news? Jesus doesn’t love his enemies at all. –

    Give the man time to work. He can’t change everything in one month. He needs time to analyse the real situation on the ground before he can put his plans into action. All his promises look very progressive and he needs all the support available to achieve them. Let’s all support him and only reassess him after one year in office.

    • Timbwi   April 25, 2016 at 8:41 am

      True indeed. How do you expect him to deliver all that when he was just elected yesterday and has not even settled. Give him 6 to 12 months bane before we realistically start pushing for the fulfillment of some of those promises.

  3. Kalushyia BWALYA   April 25, 2016 at 9:52 am

    Give the man time , first he has to sweep the dirt that he found meaning he has to expose it coz if he does not then he will be liable for the past regium dirty works

    • Shameful   April 25, 2016 at 11:52 am

      This is the disadvantage with Zambians. We do not want to support someone in order to achieve his dreams. Frankly speaking, one finger does not kill a louse. Team work is required in this case. One can have ideas, vision and initiative, but it takes team work to achieve the required goals. Give Kamanga time and support him. Even Jesus Christ had disciples because he could not do all the work alone.

      In all truthfulness and honesty, let us work with him and give him time .

    its just too early to start pushing the man against the wall give time to work, is not a god to change every thing over night.

    Do not expose yo lgnorance out of frustrations pliz give the fresh mind time but not with a PF leader.

  6. Umwina Nkana   April 25, 2016 at 10:49 am

    His first action to appoint his preferred GS was sabotaged by ‘your camp’ I guess. So as things stand, nothing tangible can move until the critical position is filled with someone with a full mandate. Your article will be welcome as a mid term review. So please give us a break!

  7. Huck Finn   April 25, 2016 at 10:55 am

    Kamanga is just like hh- fantasizing on feats too big for his ability!!!He has swallowed more than he can handle!

  8. Laso   April 25, 2016 at 11:34 am

    Yaba, this Mwamba Peni sure alilwala Peniza. How is Kamanga expected to effect all those changes within weeks of being FAZ president? Ubuwelewele mu chalo

  9. Mosquito   April 25, 2016 at 11:39 am

    It is like in marriage, how do you people expect the pregnancy to be visible from a one month old marriage? Wait for at least some good months and then you can say this man is impotent. Give him time because he is still clearing the mess at football house. We have people with phd mentality like Kazala, who is not learned and can not articulate facts well, always trying to find faults in his boss.

    We are observing and taking accountability!!!!!

  14. Baloteli Senior   April 25, 2016 at 11:58 pm

    Mosquito. It’s possible to pregnant your wife on the first night.
    It’s true kamanga needs to be given time but it’s also important to evaluate soemeone based on their promises. We didn’t ask Andrew to “restructer the lower league on a Monday proceeding his victory, to give Geoge a contract etc.” it’s the same 90 day theory and now look at where we are as a country!

  15. Pakomaila Nondo   April 26, 2016 at 1:09 am

    The author of this article must be one of the losing candidates at the just ended FAZ congress …..how do u come up with such an article when Andrew Kamanga has been in office hardly two months? Tekanya mune umine namate but also acknowledge the fact that Footbal House is under new management ……

  16. TC   April 26, 2016 at 7:07 am

    Ba Mwamba, how long has Kamanga been in office? This article stinks to high heaven of sour grapes!! Give the man room and a chance to work. There will be time for all of us, at an opportune time, to look at his performance. How come now almost everybody wants to say something about football management in Zambia!! BOLA PANSHI!

  17. Ndanje khakis   April 26, 2016 at 7:29 am

    Author has an axe to grind with Kamanga that’s all I can see

  18. mtenguleni   April 26, 2016 at 8:01 am

  19. Osward   April 26, 2016 at 9:37 am

    Surly the guy hasn’t even chosen his secretary general, faz house is still dirt, fill up all positions where people resigned there after then he can start to implement what his campaign promises were otherwise they loose very good and can take the country to greater heights.

  20. FROST   April 26, 2016 at 1:53 pm

  21. nshilimubemba   April 26, 2016 at 3:03 pm

    How many months ha he been in is it one moon , his followers must start seeing what he promised them.
    if he is two months in then 60days is a long time since he had already drawn a programme for his work .
    doesn’t he have transport to take him around the country to establish what he had on paper.
    well there is no time for waiting if he always goes to office then what else do you expect.

  22. Munalula Minyoi   April 26, 2016 at 4:41 pm

    It is too early to be critical about the new FAZ boss, he has a few huddles created by the voting process which he needs to sort out before implementation of his vision, give him time

  23. Mackay   April 26, 2016 at 6:07 pm

    This article is based on shear jealous and shame…..there is no reasoning in the writer …..if I may ask the writer …do u know what comprises sports development programs???
    If so can u identify any that u put in place with kalu…??? So u call going round the country to scout for players as a youth program ….??? Can the writer educate himself by reading about the youth programs that developt the musondas ….remember no soccer for Zambia if there is no youth program…what was Zambia going to be in 2021….no club sold a player and reaped anything under your kalu… If you are chewing what belongs to clubs how do expect the clubs to survive under the struggle of poor sponsorship, shame on u with kalu …..always rushing to govt to collect money instead of coming up with income generating ventures…. U play at levy the studium is parked and u still go to govt to ask for money for the use of the facility…. Stupid Thieves …shame shame

  24. Sata   April 26, 2016 at 10:22 pm

    Firstly, Mwamba and Kalu are very good friends. Secondly, I wish he judged his Grandfather on the 90 days using the same measure. He’s very bitter please understand him.

  25. tripoli   April 27, 2016 at 9:20 am

    JUST GIVE HIM 90 DAYS
