MTN Pleads For Customers ‘Dont Leave Our Network…’

mtnzambia-2.jpgPEOPLE should not leave our network when they have problems with it, pleads MTN Zambia as it urges its clients to verify their SIM cards.
MTN Zambia head of customer experience Matildah Chiwi explained that the exercise for clients to verify their SIM registration details was due to missing subscriber information captured in the initial exercise.
“SIM registration is for the benefit of the customer because the validation that was done or rather the information that we got [from subscribers] at first, it could be that the ID information was not clear, the form they filled in was not clear when uploading and so we need to get all the details right and have clean customer information in our database,” Chiwi explained.
“In order for us to serve you better, we are requesting that you come through and validate your information. The process is still ongoing and what we are now doing is that we have started following customers and setting camps in markets and compounds. We don’t want to inconvenience customers to spend money to come to the service centres. We have mapped the customer journey in the sense that we want to interact with them throughout.”
MTN Zambia is currently enticing its clients with free calling minutes when they verify their SIM card registration details.
“Y’ello, you have been awarded 100 minutes free to call MTN to MTN. Verify your SIM registration details at any MTN outlet to enjoy them,” according to the unsolicited messages the mobile company has repeatedly been sending to its subscribers.
Chiwi said independent telecom surveys highlighted MTN Zambia as being above competitors and leading in terms of custome rexperience.
“Customer experience is a soft element of a business and so as MTN Zambia, there are certain things that we have embarked on to ensure that we are there for a customer and that we can easily relate to them,” said Chiwi.

why should we be inconvenienced for negligence on their part, MTN should learn to be honest we all know that its not a matter of documents not been clear but documents missing due to hiring and firing employees. No matter how much they plead we already going back to airtel while patiently waiting for vodafone.

Leaving sends the best message. Here in South Africa, MTN and Vodacom are some of the worst providers you can find. Their customer service sucks like shiit. I personally feel the two have grown too large to cater for their customers properly. You only discover their incompetence when you are in a problem and you need them to solve it. They literally stick the middle finger at you.

How is your 4G? I’m thinking of changing my somewhat inactive sim card. It has been inactive since you constantly kept on asking me to send proof of being ME after sending you a scanned copy of my NRC.

I went to verify my details in Mazabuka about a month ago because they threatened to disconnect me, now they are asking me to do it again and once again i had to travel to town. when I reached their office…shop…whatever it is, they told me to look for a booth, I tried to explain that I live in Chikankata where this service is not available so please give me directions…I was rudely answered and told its not their problem but ZICTA blablabla. The lady at the counter was so rude to me that I just walked out and chewed my sim card. And am still hurt! What a waste of my time, energy and money travelling all the way to be treated like an ignorant fool. What is so hard about giving directions to YOUR booth to correct YOUR mistakes?????? chu
